From What I understand

-Robins and Adi didn't get on away from football. Mental really as on the field they were an unreal team
- Robins OK'd Adis exit to an extent. Basically understood Adi had to go, and said 'il stay' but was under the impression he would have an assistant same as before
- It's true the players, mainly last seasons influxes didn't agree with Adis 'old skool'methods. Some felt the training was quite basic, while being hard physically. Adi is a coach that can get average players (for the championship) to play a level above themselves. Think your Hyams, Fadz's, Kellys. Hes not very good at getting players with a higher ceiling, to said ceiling
- It's true he had a few run ins with players, as again they didn't appreciate his 'old skool' methods of telling them about themselves
- The 'restructure' was planned to an extent, upon Doug making clear how the off field revamp was gonna work,it was done quicker as Adi took it upon himself to make his feelings known about the way things were being done at the club as he knew due to the new players views on him that he could be on his way out

Now lastly, the actual 'incident' was apparently Adi telling Doug exactly what he thought of him, his ego, his off field ideas, his interfering with team matters and how it goes against the close knit set up that Robins and he had developed and brought so much success to us with.

People don't cross Doug like that and survive, as I mentioned previously with the O'Hare contract situation (Doug got wind Callum went mental for being hooked at Albion, removed the contract offer off the back of it basically saying I'm in charge you little shit get fucked)

I'm sure this is down to my 'agenda' though.

If this is true I think AV is probably feeling a bit vindicated at the moment.

It's another stick for Saddle to bash Doug with . He longs for the days when his mate Rich can buy a few training tops and get lauded like a saviour . Unlike a millionaire who comes in and runs a club properly

I'm surprised Adi's methods are old school having been progressive as youth coach at Chelsea. I know the games moved on in the 6 years he's been here, but not that much

I'm also surprised him and Robins not getting on outside. I mean not that they have to be best buddies, but the connection is from playing at the end of careers at Walsall so personalities known from the off and it was Robins who brought him here. Same with Marshy who was also at Walsall with them both.

Tbh if he got the best out of some but others needed something different I'd have enhanced rather than changed as we now have more coaches, he could've been one of them. Horses for courses etc.

What's unforgivable is the last part. I'm sure there are times when many of us would like to let our managers or owners know what we think of them in the workplace, but we don't because we know the outcome and most of us have mortgages to pay. No way could anyone, King or otherwise accept that or it would be open for everyone to do and say as they please. If he did do that, it's incredibly naive unless it was his intention to create a situation where he had to go.

If you think back to Albion away last season O'Hare was hooked at half time

He threw a massive bitch fit about it and got quite heated. Doug got wind and withdrew the contract offer

It was only closer to the summer when Robins convinced Doug to offer another to Callum to try keep him

Don’t agree with your last point at all. If you sack people for being passionate about the organisations success at the expense of your ego you’re not going to last long in business.

Always depends how you do it though. Robins will have had words with Doug but as long as he hasn’t called him an idiot in front of everyone and railed on him, he won’t be sacked.

Passion is great but one of the big lessons in life is learning how to approach challenges and people. Adi can’t act like that in a position of authority and expect to keep his Job.

Truthfully, it sounds like he knew he was getting sacked based on Saddle and made it extremely easy for the club to sell to Robins.

Did he call him an idiot or just say he’s ruining the club. Doug’s a big boy, he should be able to take some blunt criticism from high performing and long serving members of his team

Also in a bubble maybe he does with apologies but if other information is meant to be believed regarding him having bust ups with the first team and youth teams (Think Saddle mentioned this earlier) and losing out on transfer targets due to his methods and personality. Paints a picture of someone unprofessional, hurting the club with behaviour.

Just what I get out of it (don’t get me wrong love Adi for his work but if true he can’t be acting like that).

Depends on how it was presented.

If I had someone in my work passionately disagreeing with me and telling me I was wrong and why, I wouldn't punish them for it in fact I'd respect them.

If they started abusing me then it's another matter..

I heard that AV turned on Thomas at HT or FT at a match and Kitching and Collins had to intervene. Probably cobblers but stacks up with why Kitching seems outcast

Yeah there’s a bit of that but even a passionate bit of name calling if it’s in service of the organisations success should be forgiven IMO. Jesus it’s a small high pressure outfit not a branch of an insurance firm.

Lead in times have to be considered here, are we talking pre or post cup run?
ADI's article timing etc stating he would never usurp Robin's etc?

Viveash was not the golden goose FFS. The golden geese were the players not him, we've lost a lot of the key ones.

Funny how things turn on here, he was getting barbs this time last year because of the Chelsea connection signings

We had Vik and Hamer the year we nearly went up. Two players who were arguably the 2 best players in the division that season.

AV and MR made a great connection but it was plain sailing at the start. Especially in the L2 and L1 days.

He’s emblematic though. The most obvious of the sort of characters we’ve lost and of the conflict between what’s seen as old school and what’s being brought in.

Losing Fadz and Kelly wasn’t the golden goose. Or Godden and O’Hare. Or Lawrence and Viveash. Or Vik and Gus and Fantaky the year before. (OK maybe Vik and Gus).

It’s a general move from a high motivation environment to a low motivation one. Over the course of a year we’ve stripped out anyone with any character from on and off the pitch.

If that’s unintentional because of a desire to sign players who will appreciate in value that’s one thing, if it’s intentional because the owner doesn’t like a certain personality type that’s something altogether more worrying.

It's why I described it as a socialist model but if that's the case what is a capitalist doing behind it? It comes down to striving for the average rather than excellence for me!
