From What I understand

-Robins and Adi didn't get on away from football. Mental really as on the field they were an unreal team
- Robins OK'd Adis exit to an extent. Basically understood Adi had to go, and said 'il stay' but was under the impression he would have an assistant same as before
- It's true the players, mainly last seasons influxes didn't agree with Adis 'old skool'methods. Some felt the training was quite basic, while being hard physically. Adi is a coach that can get average players (for the championship) to play a level above themselves. Think your Hyams, Fadz's, Kellys. Hes not very good at getting players with a higher ceiling, to said ceiling
- It's true he had a few run ins with players, as again they didn't appreciate his 'old skool' methods of telling them about themselves
- The 'restructure' was planned to an extent, upon Doug making clear how the off field revamp was gonna work,it was done quicker as Adi took it upon himself to make his feelings known about the way things were being done at the club as he knew due to the new players views on him that he could be on his way out

Now lastly, the actual 'incident' was apparently Adi telling Doug exactly what he thought of him, his ego, his off field ideas, his interfering with team matters and how it goes against the close knit set up that Robins and he had developed and brought so much success to us with.

People don't cross Doug like that and survive, as I mentioned previously with the O'Hare contract situation (Doug got wind Callum went mental for being hooked at Albion, removed the contract offer off the back of it basically saying I'm in charge you little shit get fucked)

I'm sure this is down to my 'agenda' though.

Only thing that worries me there is, "interfering with team matters" should be a no-go for a chairman - any idea how and what he interfered with!?

He joined in the lap of honour after the blues game in '23. That should have given people a pointer.

Joking aside - if that's true it's pretty worrying. Does King think he is Tony Soprano?

You would hope that criticism/home truths from one of the key pillars of our recent success would make him take a step back and reassess.

Sounds like an ego problem but he has reversed some of his positions when they've fallen flat so he can't be completely blind to criticism. The big takeaway for me here is that things really aren't right behind the scenes and can't imagine that Robins is going to be around much longer with someone like him in charge.

Would you say the change in profile of player requires a different approach from a managerial perspective.

Hes done a superb job here, but is it time for a different profile of coach, maybe a more ‘modern head coach’

of course I appreciate it’s getting that appointment right if it came to it

On one hand Saddie, appreciate that you post what you’ve heard of course you’ll have your own view of the information and the people, that’s only human.

A chairman watching the players train on a pre-season tour to Spain is not something we should be worried about.
If it was every day, that would be more of a concern...
And if it was team/squad selection, that is a big no-no and I can't see Robins standing for that.

This sounds to me to be as close as we have got to what happened.
I don’t know King, but throughout my career I came across enough like him.
Men with a massive ego and the attitude, it’s my way or the highway.
He has done some good things since he arrived, but he’s made a lot of mistakes for an astute businessman.
And I for one am worried he is starting to meddle in the playing side of the club. Which can only end in disaster.

We do want a lot from owners don’t we. Spaff millions up the wall. Take a risk you may never see a penny of it again. Develop things off the pitch. Excuse poor signings on it and cough up for replacements. But have an opinion on anything - no thanks. As a club, you take the money, you take a chance. This one doesn’t appear to be going terribly well.

Still think the biggest problem we have at the moment is the players basically being a bunch of soft cunts.

if Adi was taking a tough line with them, then we definitely miss an approach of this style judging by the performances this season.

So in pre season when i was just a forum lurker you self revoked your “ITK” status as unreliable,
Claiming Doug had stopped leaks out of the club and it was being run properly.

So when did this information come to you?
Is this old source, or because things are looking a bit sticky a new source is now feeding info out of the club?

Quite frankly, i think all of this is absolutely pointless and a number of people look back at Adi with big rose tinted glasses cause he was a “bloke” and a “geezer” and that tickles peoples pickles, they love the fantasy of him telling Dr Claire to fucking swivvle and riding off into the sunset.

He was a youth coach when he joined from Chelsea, just like 2 of the people replacing him.

We started the last two seasons, when he was here, badly if not as badly as this one.

People hear hooves and think horses not zebras

Sorry Saddle, not digging at you personally here but this is such a wanky point to try and make.

Look at it differently, maybe he was out on the pre season tour so he could have lots of face to face meetings with Robins and the new coaches as they discussed transfer targets.

Maybe he was on holiday himself and stopped in there for one day, rather than the whole trip,

If i owned a football club, i’d want to watch the training! Same reason i watch the city unseen videos on youtube and go to watch friendly games.

You make a choice how you interpret all of these things because you have no other contextual information around them. Your bias towards Doug for whatever reason, chooses to look at these things negatively, rather than positively or even neutrally.

To be fair Saddle your mate Richard did that as well when he had funded training camps... don't see anything wrong with it in either Doug or Richards case in all honesty.
PS: one of my best friends is in the UK this week (big friend of Oversen) and others at the club ,I will ask if he's heard anything, will see him twice while he's here.

If it was different circumstances I'd find it funny that we've had people on this forum crying that Overson isn't allowed to turn up at training anymore and now we've got people unhappy that the owner watched a training session and implying that it somehow means he's interfering
