I don't know anything here so pure speculation but I recall comments from Viveash in the last few months about "knowing when it's time to move on" I think he has seen the writing on the wall for a while.

The step up in the quality of the squad and the expectations of the Championship I'm not sure our tactics and preparation are as good as they could be. I think a modern coaching team under Robins could really benefit us and I hope that's what will now happen.

It is a big blow to lose a character like Adi though, especially one that has been part of so much success and is clearly loved by the players.

Big, big change.

As would I. But not in place of AV.

Something has happened behind the scenes over the summer.

It suggests further coaching announcements to be made so must have some incoming?

Odd to announce this now unless they were waiting for most the players to return first. My early optimism based on signings has taken a crash. Thought the club statement was very brief considering how integral he has been. If they don't announce a replacement imminently then it would seem something has gone wrong.

No comment from Robins is very telling. Something clearly happened behind the scenes.

Shit, I didn't see that coming, unless Robins was involved in the 'review" I'm not sure he will like that, great way to start the season, tha statement doesn't make sense, why wait to today to announce this

Why? Managers have different assistants all the time.

Fergie had loads, Pep has had a billion.

Calm down

Feels like this New Performance Director is behind the changes. Worrying thing is that if she is throwing her weight around and has King backing her how long before Robins goes or walks.
Odd that she commented on the new appointments.

I reckon there has been a falling out behind the scenes as the clubs statement was extremely abrupt for a man who has spent 7 years with the club

Why does everyone assume this is bad news? I don't for a minute believe the club would have sacked him without input from Robins so you've only really got a couple of options.

1) its his decision and he's moving up to a better position, in which case good luck to him. In the same way the club can survive its best players leaving it can certainly survive a coach leaving no matter how good he is or how big of a role he has played

2) it isn't his decision and the club have decided a change needs to be made. As I said its unthinkable that would be done without Robins full involvement so we have to trust that this is for the best.

A shock certainly but not the end of the world. No doubt the usual suspects will be all over this with doom and gloom.

Maybe we could give the new guys a chance

Guessing it;s been ongoing for a while, just not announced. Doubt Viveash would have turned up at Ryton today to see Boateng on his chair.

He had 3 years left on his contract as well....

Less former Chelsea youth coming in I guess.

Got to get this appointment right, I'm still scarred by the downgrade from Alex Miller to Gary Pendrey!

I had heard rumours of certain players who joined last year not getting on with Adi ... complete hearsay, but still shocked by this one.

As they also announced new coaches coming in at around the same time I'm staying firmly in 'wait and see' for now, Robins and Viveash haven't been an inseparable double act for all of their managerial careers so I'm not sure I've got Robins down as walking out just yet.

Does it?

It’s a bold move. Adi seems like a great bloke but none of us know what his actual coaching abilities are like.

I suspect this is the next stage of our evolution. It’s naive to think that the same coaching staff we had in league 2 are suitable for a premier league promotion push.

Fair point but does seem harsh if he’s been pushed and does raise the question as to whether Robins was ok with it or even could also be on his way.
