He won't come back to cov I don't think. He might not be elite club level but he would be able to go to a club still above sporting and cov levels.

Ac Milan
Marseille
Dortmund

Etc

Wow, cannot believe people are suggesting we would get Vik back even on loan if we go up this season. You're living in fantasy land.

Arsenal don't play to his strengths but he'd walk into pretty much any top tier European team (bar Man City, Munich, Barca or Madrid). Voted as 28th best player in the world in the guardian's top 100.

Think weirdly he’d do a lot better at a worse team that relied on him more like we used to.

Spot on - Arsenal is the wrong team for him, hes a small cog in a big wheel, where hes expected to be technically good and join in - never his strength.

Hes the sole focal point - on his own, in behind, running at people, not having to overly think - let his use his raw power.

Agree, a lesser PL team or a European team who build everything around him, you will see his best.

Hey hes more than likely going to win a PL medal, so not bad, but its really painful watching him in that Arsenal system.

Irrelevant really, this thread is about VG and the body of evidence to date saying hes probably not suited to that arsenal system and on reflection may be suited better where he is the main man - like at Sporting and City.

However, as I mentioned he's more than likely going to win PL medal, so fair bloody play to him.

I agree with that, not necessarily a worse team but a team that uses him as the focal point and plays to his strengths. Even Man City are playing more direct this season, Arsenal are far too slow in their build up and he has to feed off scraps.

I see him fitting in at Newcastle tbf. He just needs to find that spark again. That hunger. That isnt being used at Arsenal atm.

I doubt he will as Man City will beat them. Many players win medals - we have a champions league medal winner at CWR

Arsenal isn't the team to get the best out of him
But it's like any player coming from abroad , give them a year at least to acclimatise to the country, conditions, new coaching , expectation
Same as Brau and any other foreigner

That's exactly the team I couldn't understand not bidding but he did have stipulated aims, shame really could have been like the old days with.Malcom Macdonald.

People also forget the transfer was protracted so he missed pre season with Arsenal. Early on he was not match sharp. But more importantly he has had to learn to fit in and his team mates have had to learn about his style in actual league games.

He will still come good, but he was never going to score at the rate in the Premier League, that he did in Portugal.
