Why would he go there? If he goes to PSG he’s guaranteed Champions League every season

They do want him but Newcastle want silly money and Isak will want much higher wages. They've got other areas to strengthen too and players out of contract this summer so makes sense to spend half as much on Vik and spread the rest around a bit

Vik and his agent are too calculated to pick Man Utd when he has multiple suitors. When leaving us He turned down more money and premier league football on purpose to join a league where he knew he’d score more goals and raise his profile for this next move.

This move is his chance to join a team with real chances of winning major trophies and making a boatload of money. PSG or Arsenal would be my guess.

Anyway PSG would be a weird one, doesn't fit their new model and their current playing style.

Their playing style isn't all that dissimilar than Sporting's was under Amorim, where Gyokeres was probably at his best compared to under the new chap where he isn't scoring as many goals from open play.

Granted they might look at someone younger like Sesko but it boils down to who's available at the right price.

I hope Newcastle get that last CL spot as it'll give Isak CL football next season and hopefully make him unavailable. That then leaves the Gyokeres as the next most likely striker on the top of clubs lists for next season.

Just looked at the EPL table and their currently 6th but win their game in hand (vs Palace) and they'd jump Man City and Chelsea into 4th, with 8 to play.

They don't play with an actual striker though at the moment. Dembele is playing up front for them at the moment and has license to roam and can at times be on the wing, in midfield or even just outside their own box. Their 6,8,10 and wingers are very fluid.

Vik isn't the really the player to player to act as an even freer version of a false 9

Did we get the fee in full when sporting signed him. Because if not any outstanding still has to be paid as well as the 10% on the profit of his next deal.

He scored a cracking goal on Saturday , showing pace ,power and strength as he scored. All the attributes Simms and Wright seem to lack.

It was always going to be next to impossible to replace Vik. I think he will be an Arsenal player next year.

Price set at £65m according to Fabrizio. Somewhere between 3-4m euros in our pockets depending on what is owed to Brighton still I'd assume.

Right, what's all this about Wright lacking the basics?

He's been in poor form, and when he's poor, he disappears within himself and loses heart.

However, that doesn't mean he's not a highly talented and dangerous player at this level, as his record with us demonstrates. That he's good enough is not in question.

Idiots who have the memory of a goldfish

Was a matter of months ago that the general consensus was Wright being a £20m player, one of the best in the league and one of our most important in the squad.

We owe nothing to Brighton

What we’ll get from £65m

€24m ~ £20m
£65m - £20m = £45m
10% of £45m = £4.5m

We’d get £4,500,000 from the Gyökeres sale

King has said we will owe Brighton something (based on their sell on from the original deal).

Don't think that was anything to do with Brighton, that was because Sporting have already paid out some performance related add ons to us.

Speaking of does anyone know how much sporting paid for Gyökeres’ sell on to be reduced because if you add it onto the £20m + £4.5m we’d have made if he goes in the summer we’ve done well to make money off him

No there was a term in the contract where Sporting could pay a fee to reduce the sell on from 15% to 10% and Im pretty sure that covered what we owed Brightom
