Ok but Callum O'Hare is not a striker.

I said he was an AM. Maybe it wasn't clear but I was saying O'Hare + two strikers (ie. Godden + Walker, Biamou and Walker, Gyo and Walker etc)

Maybe but if we've got Walker, Gyo, Godden and Waghorn at the moment I'd be very surprised if he only intended to play one of them regularly.

At the moment Bright isn't confirmed yet and if he did you' think him and O'Hare would be a good option with Bright a maverick and O'Hare working like a Trojan. Can't have Bright on his own if he still just does what he wants, or have him unhappy sitting on the bench.

@better days has said he’s been given a squad number and has been training the past week I think it’s safe to say bright has signed,I don’t see robins using 2 up front but who knows

4 strikers is pretty standard Even for teams playing with 1 up front

Only asking if Mark Robins is thinking of changing the formation next season ie 442 .

4-4-2 is pretty redundant these days. Might go 3-4-1-2 though

Robins tweaked how we played at the backend of last season it didn’t seem a set 5-3-2 or 3-5-2 it varied within the games. O’Hare was our star turn. along with Gyokeres who varied his positions up top from left side to centre-forward. That’s what I see Robins doing having variety and the players in the selected matchday 18 to change tactically during the game.
Going to be interesting how he sets up and starts games I’m assuming it will be any two from our four main strike force plus O’Hare and Hamer then I’m not sure perhaps horses for courses but I can’t see Kelly not starting but then I’m sure there will be two or three new additions to our squad, intriguing to say the least.

I think Waghorn could do a job at the top of the box with O’Hare too if we’re looking for a slightly deeper press. Think we’re going to see a much more fluid change of system in-game this year given the recruitment up front.

Huh? You think Waghorn is like Walker? They’re completely different. Same with Gyokeres and the rest.

Our four main strikers are all different in what they offer looking at it any two of the four could partner each other although I see MR going Waghorn/Gyokeres on the left and the other two right side and let’s remember we have the unknown Taveres a fit Jodie Jones and youngster Bapaga so MR has a number of forward options. That’s why I see this link with the Arsenal youngster Falorin Balugon only happening if Godden or Walker move on.

Towards the end of last season, we played 2 up front many times. We changed during games also, MR started with the formation he thought would win but if behind changed it.
It was when all the players were unfit, he could not do it earlier.

I remember people on here crying out for changes when we had just Baka as the only attacking option on the bench!

If we are employing the high press for 90 minutes in every game, we are certainly going to need 4 similar strikers in order to rest and rotate them.
Having Jones and possibly Bright available would give us pace as a plan B, which is something we were missing last season.

Keep seeing Jones flagged up, I think we should plan to be without Jones, if he comes good then great but he's spent the past 4 seasons injured and at 2 levels below our current standard. Big ask of him to be able to make a difference in our team.

He will be looked at in the pre season games including in Spain
Should give the management an idea of whether he can make a contribution

More through necessity then ability, I personally don't think we should have extended his contract but now we have, I'm happy to give him a try, I just hope we don't rely on him, and if it flares up again, we'll be fucked. We all know someone like cook will more then happily give his knee a good rattle in a game to see if he's up for it.

We just have to trust that the surgeons did a good job this time. If he still has the pace and trickery he had before, he could be a real asset once again.
Once he gets some minutes under his belt, and confidence comes back, I'm sure he will be a big favourite again.

A fully fit Jodi Jones on the form of three years ago what an asset he could prove to be.

If Sevilla play their first team we need not worry if we get battered its if they play their reserves and we get battered is when we need to worry
