While it's desperately sad that the football club has lost its option on the stadium, at least the immoral hedge fund won't be getting their filthy hands on it.

The city has also gained a premiership rugby team.

Relegation to league one
Taking the club out of the city
Alienating the fans...
We can now add losing the option on the Ricoh to SISU's list of fine moments.

How can anyone muster anything but pure hatred for these people and what they've done to our football club? Historical decline isn't an excuse - look at what Southampton have achieved since they turned SISU down.

Now SISU, either build your fantasy stadium or f*ck off. Preferably the latter.

I'll be waiting in the wings with my money until CCFC has respectable owners. I just pray that it still exists.

Not a true supporter then! During the many years I've supported we've had many owners but it's not about them, it's about the manager & the team.

I hope Ann & her Council cronies are proud of themselves! PUSB!

No it isn't it is about how the club (business) is run just as much as the team, we are where we are because of how the business is being run, the policies of those running the business and the people charged with running the business, unfortunately the football side of things takes second spot with this lot at the helm.

RFC is a super fan because he went to Sixfields and supports all of SISU's actions, they have been proven to be a bunch of clowns when it comes to running a football club. Ann & Higgs can get on with their real jobs. Tim can get on with his and stop spending cash on lawyers administrators and artists drawing fantasy stadiums.

Also how many of those other owners took us to division 3 and moved us 40 miles away unnecessarily?
I am sure he still supports the team he just has taken a stance against our owners.
He could question you as a true supporter by attending Sixfields if he wanted to.

If it's only about the manager and the team and not about the owners why do you keep bringing CCC into every post? Surely it's even less about them than our owners? More so now than ever. By the way I thought you were dumping the manager and team if we ever returned to the Ricoh? Presumably that's what any "true" fan would have done in your opinion.

Nobody has explained how it is such a great deal yet anyway? People are talking like tax payers are getting rebates

I don't think we've ever had owners that have kidnapped the club to achieve their own goals.

I was hoodwinked like most at first (as I'm sure you'll hear on here from certain characters ad nausea) but the season before we were taken to Sixfields I gave up my ST after 22 years.

It got too personal for me. They won't be using me as a pawn in their business strategy that has no regard for CCFC.

The day that I can go back to supporting CCFC and not a London hedge fund sponsor will be one of the happiest of my life.

Still seems like a very cheap sale price to me, especially if they are due stadium naming money in the next year or two. Now the deal is done I don't see why they can't reveal what conditions there are around future development of the site etc, and who is paying for it.

A company half owned by the council and local 'children's' (just for you) charity was slowly getting screwed over.
Instead now more money will be coming into the Coventry economy. So as a Cov fan it is frustrating.
They rest of the people of Coventry it is better for them.

If only I still lived within the border of Coventry Council I would have free council tax for years to come after this deal!

Cheers Ann!

I can agree with pretty much all of the OP's comments but 'Brought a premiership rugby club to Coventry'................sorry but that nullifies most of your anti SISU { hedge fund} comments. The silly bitch Lucas has replaced one hedge fund with another and shit on all the Coventry city and rugby fans in the locality in the process. SISU are scum but this cursed woman has let personal promotion and revenge cloud all of her obligations to her electorate.

But how? How is it so much better for the people of Coventry?

I can understand why it would be better for say a pub owner in Foleshill but why is it better for the majority of Coventry Residents?

Nick being serious here, not sure too many Rugby fans will go into the pubs on the Foleshill road. I expect that they will do a lot of their drinking at the Ricoh, remember previously for big games they used the exhibition hall as a beer village. The food outlets at the Arena Franky & Bennys and Burger King - will do well. I expect the corporate hospitality to do very well also.

Another conspiracy theorist talking about a smoking gun, we had court cases where we learned nothing other than to confirm the incompetence of our owners - face it we as supporters may have potentially lost out but SISU have failed miserably.

You would have to wait for research in a few years to say how much it has benefited Coventry.

It will though, the profile if the city will raise.
At all levels including playing Staff are likely to eventually own or rent property in the area.
Wasps plan to build a training facility here.
Jobs at ACL itself should hopefully be more secure.
If Wasps are successful and you get big European matches like before. That was estimated to have brought millions into the local economy.

As I say to my shock I spoke to a few people from the Birmingham region. Who intend to come. They do not consider themselves wasps fans. That's a handfuls I spoke to so I wonder how many others from outside Coventry will come in.

A local charity will now get 50p per ticket from the ticket sales.

The Ricoh itself will get more publicity which should improve the conferencing side of things again which will have a knock effect for employment.

The casino, tescos, KFC, M&S, Next

I don't think you will find a single person who will say wasps coming to Coventry will bring in less income to the Coventry economy.

You personally may not give a shit, however the person who gets a job at tescos because of it will. They will then spend their money in the city. They may spend it doing up their house and employ a local tradesman and so on so on

You or me can just look at it as this is shit for CCFC. The council have to look wider than that.

Yes because Tescos, Next and M&S are well well known Coventry Businesses. I am all for LOCAL businesses making money, I hope that some pubs to pick up with it before games, I hope local taxi companies etc.

Justfying it being good for the people of Coventry because loads of people will go into Next is a bit silly isn't it? Why on earth would that matter to the average Joe Coventry person that this is benefiting so much?

Yeah the head bloke at ACL's job was nice and secure...

That sounds like it was straight from the Councillor's text book, with all of the hopes and estimations.

People took pride when the Ice hockey team were top of their game.
People will also take pride in wasps in the future.
However yes the pound will have been the prime motivation behind the deal.

Nick when those business do well they employ Coventry people.

I wish they were in dependant shops like in Fargo but that is an entirely different issue.

Like it or not they employ people from the city who will spend some if their wages in the city
