I do like Torp, he’s a great technical midfielder, and could be a real unearthed gem.

My only concern is that he’s picking up niggly injuries, probably from the vigour of his first few months in The Championship, however this could easily persist.

It would be a tremendous shame, if he didn’t adjust to the speed and rigour of the English game. I do, however, have great faith in MR to work on getting him fit and acclimated.

Hopefully, he has a fantastic season ahead of him.

I think he’ll be fine. He was well and truly chucked in at the deep end last season due to squad injuries and after a full season himself. I wonder if after that (1.5 seasons straight threw) they’re taking it a bit easier with him. Technically excellent as you say and great eye for a pass. Excited to see how he develops

The way the Getafe lot were hacking lumps off our players, I’m surprised they’re not all in the hydropool for therapy.

That’s a great point to be fair, didn’t think about that

So does that mean we give Dovin an extended break too, I hope not

He picked up those injuries as he had just played a full season in Norway

I very nearly chucked a ‘Walsh incoming please Robbings’ reply in there.

No jack Rudoni, I don’t think he’s injured so therefore don’t think it matters

Has to be a good 6’3’’, which is odd, as I pictured him as about 5’10.

Was actually just thinking on the videos recently is it me or does he seem to not really be fitting in with everyone else. Thats not me making some bollocks up but he just doesn't seem to be getting involved in what's show at least.

Maybe it is because he is actually injured?

He generally just grimaces at the camera. Seems very quiet. He hasn't turned up yet for us, so I expect once he starts to put in performances he'll feel more comfortable

Shut up you muppet I simply said he doesn't seem to be part of the crowd in my opinion. And as others have posted, he doesn't need to be does he.

He finished his Danish season in November and signed for us Jan 11th, debuted 26th Jan.

Always difficult for players who join in January from leagues that play at a different time of year. He won't have had a normal preseason where you build up fitness in games that don't matter and follow the same program as the rest of the team. He did fine last year but suspect we'll see a different player this season.

Getting worried about Torp, not socially like some in this thread, but fitness and quality wise he just doesn’t seem to be getting to the level you’d expect for a signing of his cost.

Without wanting to split hairs he played his last game 3 Dec. Probably had to do a mini pre season to get back up to fitness again for us. Didn’t look quite fit for a lot of the end of season

Id have expected him to play as much of a part as the likes of Kai Andrew’s. If he’s injured again that’s not a good sign after several injuries in six months already.

just feels like he never got going.

Give him a chance shmmeee, only played a dozen or so games. We don’t need to look back too far to see plenty of incorrect opinions on players after that number of games last season

That’s my worry. January signing in a desperately needed position and can’t break into the team consistently. Now the only first team player not fit for pre season. And he was older when we signed than our usual. He needs to get himself fit and playing soon really. We shouldn’t all be saying we need a CM when we signed one in Jan.

Hard disagree. People as always remembering the 1 or 2 stinkers. Often I thought he looked the classiest player on the pitch when he came on.

Torp misses a pre season game and his career is over. This conversation would not be happening at all had that goal been allowed.

He’s looked great, a bit off the pace at times, but definite quality. Just doesn’t seem to be establishing himself by staying fit and playing.

We needed a CM in January, signed one, and now we need another CM because Kelly has gone.

Let’s see how he performs with a full preseason in him.
