You obviously have vague recollections of the sexy bits while ignoring the poor passes and the times he has got turned over and put us under pressure. That has been his theme this season. At the start of the season I hoped he would kick on, but he hasn't.

To be fair not just him. Hopefully when we turn this around or something changes, he can start to kick on.

Big part of the issue as I see it is our players not moving off the ball (although he’s equally as guilty when others have the ball). When we get pressed aggressively, you want an attacker to make a yard of space to play it early. We don’t do anywhere near enough of that this season.

Don’t disagree. Think this is why I’m most concerned with this year. Robins sides have never been this pedestrian on and off the ball.

No urgency like you said to make space and move into space but also to press back and show a real urgency to get the ball back.

Torp is doing well to get picked on for recent poor performances whilst also playing just 13 minutes of the last 3 games.

Robins needs to have a think about what he’s doing to players confidence as well. Didn’t both Torp and Simms do well at Watford and then they were dropped. Torp has never made it back into the starting 11 and Simms started at Leeds.

But it is about what he has offered this season. He had a chance to claim a shirt as a starter and has been very lacking.

He's definitely good enough. That finish on his weak foot. I couldn't see what we needed to change today, we were the better team but somehow ended up 2-0 down. Torp comes on scores a wonderful goal and we win 3-2. Coincidence?

Good player written off too soon. Much better shooting technique than Sheaf and Eccles that's for sure.

Needs to be played further up the pitch as he was today. Very well taken goal indeed

I’ve been a Torp critic for a while now, today he seemed to get a grip of the game and be quite influential with us going forward! Took his goal well too. Time will tell like with the team if they can get some sort of positive consistency going! Might finally see why Robins signed him for

Up until now he's shown he can't last more than 20-30 minutes.
Sort that out and we've got a player on our hands.

He scored a great goal today. But where does he fit in? He isn’t quick enough for midfield. Not nimble enough. He may be consigned to being a sub player who can pick a pass or score when we’re dominating.

Impressive to be a critic recently, he’s barely played.

Did brilliantly today in the ten role. His best attribute has always been his passing and think he will thrive in a ten role where he doesn’t need to do as much defensive work.

Also he does have shooting boots.

Play him as a ten and allow him to stay high and not track back and he’ll be a handful.

Just allow him to sit in pockets and transition the ball from midfield to attack, pace won’t matter as he’ll have plenty around him

I've always liked him, he's technically a very good footballer, tbh when Kasey Palmer was sold I thought M.R. would try him in a more forward role (up until today he hadn't).
Hopefully after today he'll get the chance in the 10/8 role.... fantastic technique for his goal this afternoon.

Torp came on and had a good game. Looked fitter and stronger than at the start of the season. Got involved and made some good passes higher up the pitch.

You couldn't argue with the finish could you? A really good goal. Hopefully he can kick on and establish himself now.

Certainly thought he did his fair share of defensive work today, but he benefitted from the fact he could go and press without fear of leaving a huge gap in centre mid.

This is what pisses me off about our fan base. Anyone with eyes and any semblance of footballing knowledge/understanding can see there’s a player there. Purely down to his role in the team and whether he can play in the intensity of English/championship football. For me, his movement today and willingness to accept the ball in tight areas, even before the goal, again shows he could be a top player at this level.

Shove him in front of the back four with a focus on defensive duties and he might struggle

Always had great technique and I thought he often looked the best player on the pitch when coming on last season. Up to management/coaching to get the best from him.

He should’ve been the furthest forward midfielder all season. To be fair sheafs injury messed that up a bit but I reckon he should be further forward than rudoni

The coaching, set up etc has been questionable this season but hopefully as they spend time with the squad things will improve

I agree, Rudoni flatters to deceive

torp has potential to score 10-15 goals a season

wasted deep

Torp has to be utilised behind the front two. He is the only midfielder we have that is even remotely capable of playing as a 10.

To be honest, I feel the initial impression was that he could play deeper in a Hamer-esque role, but I think that ship has sailed now. He’s wasted there.

Get him doing what he does best: picking out those killer passes and shooting from distance. Not all playmakers have been blessed with pace, he just needs a bit more time on the ball in a more advanced role.

I think he lacks a bit of pace and stamina, the team have enough legs around him to let him dictate play high up the pitch and score the odd worldy

He needs to build up his stamina and be played in an advanced role Get another decent midfielder in Jan , a CB and kick on.

All the stat scouts say Torp is best played just behind the front 2. Suits his game.

You can see that in the way he plays . He wants the ball in tight areas and looks to move it quickly . I think he can become a very useful 10 if he can work on the weaknesses in his game

People constantly criticising his stamina. He's still quite new to English football, he missed most of pre-season with an injury, and hasn't had a decent run of games yet. Far too soon to assume he can't be a contributor over 90 minutes.

He is a lovely footballer too watch , so silky smooth and languid in possession.
Hopefully this game is a catalyst for him

Today’s game vs Luton hopefully reveals where different players thrive when played in their natural positions. Torp plays better behind the front 2 and is not a defensive midfielder. He can shoot whereas Sheaf and Eccles don’t have that in their locker and are better suited in winning the ball from deeper positions. Rudoni looked lively on the left flank while Haji showed he can play in a free role either on the right flank while moving to support Simms up top in order not to leave him isolated. MVE looked better today than in the last 2 games while Binks impressed with his drives forward. Lati worked hard and Thomas and Dovin were ok. The only ones that didn’t impress me too much today were Kitching and Saka.

If we hadn’t been robbed of a goal vs Preston last week, we would have been on a 3 game unbeaten run. Anyway, just have to stay focused, concentrate for 90 minutes and stop conceding stupid goals.
