In an attempt to stimulate some more football-related discussion, who do we think would stand in for Baker if he got injured/suspended?

Obvious candidate for me is Murphy, perhaps Leon Clarke (I believe both of them have had the armband in pre-season friendlies when Baker was not on the pitch).

Thoughts?

Dimi, what do you expect? Lots of very angry fans. Who cares who the vice captain is at Northampton.

i'm with you pal. a standard summer of no football is bad enough without not talking about OUR club who are playing tonight.

I'm sorry but how does 'angry fans' come into this discussion about vice captain? and also 'who cares who the vice captain is' like it really drives me mad how some people forget about anything else except sisu out, which in one respect i understand but also i believe it's being selfish because we still have proper away games that we can go and support the team with and so i'm pretty sure most people do care who vice captain is if baker got injured or suspended for a game or two, being those games away.

Jordan Clarke, Murphy, Fleck (I think) have all had the arm ban in Bakers a sense pre season and would be the 'obvious' candidates for me.

Barton maybe suitable as it seems like he will be a regular in the team

An interesting question - it depends on whether we sign anyone. The obvious choice is Murphy as the most experienced player we have with Christie or Thomas in charge of Vice to learn on the job. Depends on who gets sold off also.
