21st January and there seems to be no signs of a incoming striker! Its obvious how short we are up top and yet still nothing, worries me even more now Leon Clarke could potentially be very unmotivated on the pitch for us now. The one thing we need is decent strikers due to the inability of our back line.

Are SISU aware that to the rest of the outside world, months of the Gregorian calender don't have the same level of elasticity that applies to their weeks or months associated with strip sponsorship, buying of land, filing accounts, etc.?

Jesus, there's still 10 days of the window left to run. Worry when the 30th January arrives and there's no sign of anyone coming in.

More pointless moaning.

We're over 66% into the transfer window and we haven't strengthened in the one area we need to strengthen most. "pointless moaning" indeed.

Have all our best players been sold yet?

Only 10 days to go before meltdown.

There is no rush. All we have to do is play a defender in the strikers role.........

We've brought in a striker haven't we? Seabourne has also been signed permanently.

No one has been sold and like I said there's still 10 days left. Chill.

No sign of anyone coming in light just mean the negotiations are being done behind the scenes, as they should be.....

So we have brought in a striker that has a defender in front of him in the pecking order that isn't very good at playing as a striker and that is supposed to be good enough?

Went to Barnsley and saw our new striker play ( well run around a lot but looked poor) he isn't ready just yet and may go on to be a great player but if we are relying on him to give us a push for the pay-offs, then forget it. Worry not SISUE will continue to back the club as they promised

Robbie Keane was quite sometime ago.

You can let it go now.

Have we sold anybody yet?

Apart from Clarke to Sheffield United and Baker to Nottingham Forest before the season started that is?

Thank God that the players that we have left(not many as they were all sold apparently before the end of the last transfer window) play for nothing, so that nobody has to pay their wages.

Probably why they were so keen to pay 20% of their wages to fund the new stadium.

Sisu can be accused of a lot of things the last couple of years but not of selling our best players.

Players will be sold at some point but will be on terms that suit the club, as we have seen with Leon Clarke. I think they have learnt from past mistakes on transfer policy. Shame it was a little bit late.

Juke when he was the only player scoring goals for us when we were in a relegation battle? SISUE were so desperate to get the sale that they sent him there on loan as the transfer window had closed. We then got relegated.

No real rush now as we haven't got a league game until after the window closes.

I imagine we'll play a line striker on Friday and pack the midfield.

Big Sam was on TV last night saying he's frustrated with the window. Been trying to sign strikers for 8 weeks with no success.

I must have imagined it though as it's only Coventry City FC who have troubles signing any players....

Danny Haynes will probably be available on a free, has had his injury problems but could provide the pace we have lost with Wilsons injury

I think there is a massive difference on quality of player he is after to what we would get though.

The quality of the player makes no difference to the point being made. Every team in the land wants a new striker in January. Finding the right one, who fits into your style and buys into your team ethic makes life hard. I'd rather Pressley gets the right man in than he panic (like some of you) and bring in a dud.

In all fairness I'm mightily impressed that this thread didn't surface 3 hours after the transfer window opened if previous transfer windows on SBT are anything to go by.

The annual 'panic about not buying players in January' thread surfacing on January 21st is a superb effort from all involved. Well done SBT!

To be fair though the annual panic about all our players being sold in the January transfer window started immediately the August transfer window closed.

To be fair big Sam wouldn't recognize a striker if one jumped out and kicked his Aspidistra.

Regarding transfers we should be signing the Celtic lad Dylan McGeouch before the end of the window on a six month loan deal initially, the reason we haven't already has nothing to do with our owners or club it is simply because he is not fit to pass a medical as he is coming back from injury, so I am told.
