They've already bought the stuff we may as well get through it and just not buy more if it's Russian or just carry on if it isn't

I'm waiting for the 8pm stand on your doorstep and clap for Ukraine moment, or an elderly ex soldier to start doing laps of his garden so that his family can set up a charity in his name, then charge 80% of it's funds in management fees.

I dunno, but that air superiority claim seems a bit unlikely to me, given the 40 mile convoy that's just begging to be hit and Ukraine's ongoing requests for a no fly zone to be implemented. Not saying it's wrong, but I can't see how that stacks up.

That is good news. What have they been doing? Where are the Russian planes and why were people talking about a no fly zone? Why is there a 40 mile convoy? Where is The Phantom Flan Flinger? Something stinks. Edited. See below.

The Mysterious Case of the Missing Russian Air Force

On the fifth day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, one of many unanswered questions is why Russia has launched a military campaign at huge cost with maximalist objectives, and then declined to use the vast majority of its fixed wing combat aircraft.

The Russian combat air force has not achieved air superiority despite being 15 times the size of Ukraine's combat air force.

There are also accounts of the airforce being I’ll disciplined. Not sure it applies to today but the Airforce from the top down, drank alcohol designated for the functions of aircraft! John Barron. MiG Pilot - Contents

For some reason Russia is only committing a very small proportion of it's air force.

If it's anything like the rest of the army that's probably because it's old and not maintained properly but who knows, it does seem odd.

Don't really drink spirits any more but got given a bottle by a Polish colleague who also gave me a carton of apple juice to accompany it, first time I tried that combo but it was nice.

It's a moot point as no such place has or ever will exist (it's called Utopia for a reason) and if it did, shit like this wouldn't happen, but provided my family would be Ok then yes.

It doesn’t mention gas suppliers and is an opinion piece by an American HI guy who seems to suggest we can end the war by paying Russia for peace

Good one

Coke Cola have decided to remain in Russia - Ukraine retailers ( left) have taken all their products off their shelves - most carmakers have stopped production due to component shortages

No it doesn't mention gas. You seem to be incapable of understanding that other sanctions can (and are) have an effect. A huge effect.

Again, you seem to be of the opinion that there are two options: let Putin get on with it and cut off Europe's gas supply. With absolutely nothing in between.

Being reported that Russians are starting to flee to Finland in sizeable numbers. Ahead of martial law being enforced by all accounts. Not many people I would wish death on but someone needs to put a bullet in Putins head and quick.

Entirely plausible. They are struggling in Kiev and seem to be in a bit of a stalemate though, but yes it's possible.

Not sure what that has to do with sanctions but never mind.

well a lot as once it controls all the ports abd can prevent movement out of the country sanctions won’t just be starving the Russians and at that point some form of negotiated settlement is likely

After all by the end of next week Von de Leyen and her crew will have handed another £2 billion to Mr Putin

You've said that sanctions are starving Russians, so you obviously think that sanctions work.

Stop flip flopping between opinions so often and you'll be able to follow things more clearly. Hope that helps.

Anyway. While Grendel decides whether sanctions do or don't work, Russia have passed laws that can see people imprisoned for 'discrediting' the Ukraine invasion!

No it doesn’t starving was a euphemism for restrictions

Do you have any understanding of the Russian mentality? At the fall of communism the country went into entrenched poverty beyond any scale you’d imagine. It’s a stubborn nationalistic country. Then being starved meant no food for a week. Now it’s no trip to McDonald’s this week

Many Russians will see this as the west trying to involve itself in a war they have no right to do so. These sanctions will do nothing to their resolve and will change nothing

The energy restrictions would mean 25% of GDP gone in a day. But I wouldn’t worry as I’m sure Mr Putin will if this caries on plunge Europe into darkness quicker than it takes him to tell the absurd Mr Macron to fuck off - ie less than the length of a football match

This is a live feed from various places.
Recording several hours behind as well. At 6 hours 30 minutes there is a chilling sound of sirens (Maybe 10 minis ago?) It brings home the sheer horror of what threatens the citizens of Ukraine every day. Happened to have my earbuds in at the time.

This is the Russia I know. It's amazing just how blinkered and blinded they are and of course how controlling the media is over there.
