That’s objectively not what isolationism means.

It's the principle of only being interested in your own country and acting in its own self-interests. It does not mean withdrawing from the world completely.

Yes, exactly, it's what I said.

Here's the dictionary definition as well - isolationism

the political principle or practice of showing interest only in your own country and not being involved in international activities

…they’re involving themselves in Israel and Yemen as we speak. They are also mostly seeking peace as a way to steal Ukraine’s mineral wealth. It doesn’t end their involvement in that country either.

...yes, because in all those cases, they perceive them as serving their self-interests (showing interest in their own country).

I’m happy that we have been made to think Russia are the enemy for all my lifetime and we may have been duped.
But ffs how can we go from a year or two ago trump and his cult claiming no Russia connection and then this

Utterly mad

Tryinh not to be narrow minded or under the influence is this about alienating China?

I can’t understand it it’s madness

The best outcome above all else is an end to fighting at this point and the deaths of more people.

It's amazing how he keeps going on about wanting peace when he's the one man in the world that has the ability to bring about peace instantly.

The way I see it is it's up to Europe and UK or even Turkey to decide whether this continues, I'd suggest not at this point so it's a position of weakness while Russia is at its weakest point, frankly I don't know why they just don't get on with it and attack Europe from both sides, they're so uncivilised you know!

Post Cold War there was a massive improvement in relations with Russia. The reason that ended was Putin.

Witkoff at it again today.

Repeating Kremlin propaganda and talking about how Putin is such a stand-up guy.

You think Zelensky ceasing hostilities would stop the deaths of any more people?

Well suggesting a realistic solution is that Mr Putin takes his tanks home with him is somewhat laughable is it not?

Merely stating a fact. Putin is the only man prolonging this conflict and it’s entirely up to him to decide when it stops.
