Why would you think that, the 2 times it happened in the past were WWI and WWII (though National Service as it was termed continued till the 1960s and conscripts were sent to Korea and the Suez debacle in the 1950's) neither of which involved infantry action in the UK (bar the uncontested occupation of the Channel Isles).Well if conscription happened, which it isn't going to, it would be for internal security.
