Former Ukrainian MP Iryna Farion assassinated in Lviv

Former Ukrainian lawmaker and linguist Iryna Farion died in Lviv on July 19, hours after being attacked, Lviv Oblast Governor Maksym Kozytskyi said.

Ukrainian ultranationalist former MP murdered.

Likely to see much more of this as the situation continues to deteriate, and when peace finally comes Ukraine is going eclipse 1990s Russia.

The suspect in the murder of Irina Farion has been caught.

Lots of speculation that he is linked to either a Russian neo-nazi group or am Azov affiliated nazi group.

An insight about how Ukrainians feel about expanding conscription. A popular Ukrainian telegram channel did a poll to ask about the possibility of lowering th3 conscription age to 22 and the result is pretty clear.

Not watched it but as I’ve said for a while now it’ll end in a negotiated settlement. It’s been obvious since the failed counter-offensive.

It’s several factors. Such as Chine/banks having withdrawn access to markets, internal and external, high domestic employment and therefore huge manpower issues in the arms industry Despite their economy now being a war economy.

Zelenskys visit to China and a change in his approach. (If not fully embracing it).

the failure of the summer offensive.

The balance of air defence shifting towards Ukr/F-16s

Release of political prisoners. All Russians but some of the dissidents being released/ spies going the other way.

Putin. Likely to go. Perhaps part of the pre negotiation talks.

There’s a q and a. after as well.

the negotiations are not likely to include Ukraine in reality. US/Russia.

Amazed no one has referenced the prisoner swap. Despite Biden and his ridiculous claim it’s a great deal it’s in reality a victory and open season for Putin

The Russia prisoner swap may prove costly

Those hoping the deal signifies a defrosting of the fraught relationship between Moscow and Western capitals are likely to be disappointed

Yep - Russia basically got to exile a bunch of traitors and in return they got actual intelligence assets.

The fake crying from Sullivan again was hilarious.

Theres been something of a war between the ukr public and military "recruiters" ongoing for a while now that seems to be escalating.

The public are protesting, torching military vehicles and outright attacking the military when they come to conscript people.

I saw a shocker of a video where a ukrainian civilian blew himself up (and the recruiter) with a grenade rather than be conscripted, and another where a conscriptor was shot dead.

Dragging people into vans and sending them off to die is really starting to backfire for the Ukr military/government.

I have no idea if it's fake, because I don't speak Ukrainian - do you?

But what I can see is that account is clearly pushing Russian propaganda.

I have a good understanding of the language, yes.

And I've seen hundreds of videos of Ukrainians being dragged into vans to be conscripted, and seen loads of protests.

Well no because there's a slight difference between sharing UA provided losses and outright lies such as Russia didn't start the war.

It looks like the BBC and The Guardian have been taken over by the Kremlin

Inte Interesting story this. Basically, Ukrainian special forces involved in attack against wagner troops in Mali. Wagner got smoked and lost dozens alongside regular Malian forces.

Now, wagner is there at the request of the Malian gov so their presence makes sense whether you like them or not,but why are Ukraine getting involved in PR stunts when those forces could be fighting on the front line in Ukraine?

Even more worrying, is that Ukraine here is supporting al-quaeda affiliates. Aren't they supposed to be the good guys, so why are they helping literal terrorists?

Wouldnt be the first time though - see Ukr actions during chechen wars.

Mali cuts diplomatic ties with Ukraine over Wagner-attack claims

Kyiv has been accused of helping plan an ambush on Malian soldiers and the Russian mercenaries fighting alongside them.
