Which is also (inconveniently for grendull) the only real opportunity that the US has had to get involved in conflict in Europe, no one had to attack the US directly for it to happen either. It’s almost as if there was a pact formed between European countries and the the US after the war grendull keeps childishly referring to as if he’s making some sort of valid point.

it didn’t directly get involved until 4 years into the conflict and a peace settlement was being devised I don’t think there was a single military uS casualty

Well, they're not going to shoot civilian aircraft down.

Deny landing or impound planes I imagine.

Didn't get involved for 4 years? Where have I heard that before about the Americans?

I didn't comment on anything until mine came through would still not comment on social media now as heavily monitored by Fidesz. Got some horror stories on that.

Yep. None of those being protected were members of NATO at the time but they used the grounds of stopping genocide that time. Wonder how many Ukrainian civilian deaths count as genocide. Also why Putin used genocide as the reason for Donbass etc.

The real answer is exactly what we do already with Russian military aircraft. We will respond with our QRA assets. It would then be down to the individual circumstances on how we handle that aircraft, but it would be a lot of high level people deciding based on already agreed potential actions.

Putin is already some way there on the ‘path to genocide’ with his denial that Ukraine is a legitimate state in the first place. Again though, he has nukes whereas Yugoslavia had none

Fair fucks to them but I don't know how they enforce that if a Russian battleship comes steaming up the Bosporus.

Actually a little surprised as Erdogan is very much in the same mould as Putin.

They were involved with the no fly zone from 1991 under UN and NATO resolution which is also when Europe got involved so more nonsense. When NATO did put troops on the ground it was also under US command. Try reading a book.

it wasn’t - they joined a peace keeping force 4 years after the event which is pretty much the timescale so I guess they may pop along in 2026 for a short while

What happens when you shut independent media and everything is state controlled.
Started lying to justify the build up, the invasion and how the invasion progresses. Surprised we're not seeing pictures on Russian media of Ukrainians welcoming a liberating army.

Yes because wars that happened decades ago are comparable to 2022. I look forward to when American forces permanently based across American European bases, just uproot and leave overnight.

Not to mention, the example already given.

Tough shit isn't it .They're only carrying out Putin's orders. That's okay then it's not their fault. That makes it okay then . They can kill who they like.
I couldn't give a shit about the Russian military. They're all part of Putin's plan to enslave a democracy.
They can burn in hell and in agony .
You're the sort that be would have welcomed the Nazi soldiers when they overran the Channel Islands, because they were only carrying out Hitler's orders. It's not down to the soldier pointing the rifle.

You're a disgrace. Ukrainians are dying in order for people like you to have you're freedom. Russians are dying because they wish to end democracy and enslave a nation.
But it's not their fault.

Not at all, but if you hadn't noticed it's 2021 not 1941, different world we live in now + is you didn't realise the Russians were told just a exercise then a few mins before invasion they was told, you're a moron, let me guess you want NATO to step in and start a nuclear war?

Hmmm, the step of blaming the average squaddie for the ills of the people in power is a dangerous path to take.

And yet the Russian military are not to blame. They are as much victims as the Ukrainians.
I hope your "Ukrainian family" feel the same way as you do. I doubt it.
