Good lord.

Oh for fuck sake

Utter, utter crank.

If people like this are where you and Grendel are getting your news from suddenly it all makes sense.

"In 2014, after the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation and during a conflict with Ukraine over its eastern parts, Macgregor appeared on Russian state-owned network RT where he called for annexation of Donbas"

"Three days after the war began, he said "The battle in eastern Ukraine is really almost over," and predicted "If [Ukraine] don't surrender in the next 24 hours, I suspect Russia will ultimately annihilate them." Macgregor said he believed Russia should be allowed to seize whatever parts of Ukraine it wanted."

Although this is really pointless what actually in 2014 happened which was ultimately significant?

Ive said word for word what exactly - you must surely acknowledge the Obama administration and the part it played in the “coup” of 2014? Surely you acknowledge this - the US don’t deny it

I obviously have no idea who you are but I do suspect that you are someone whose always been told you are correct and struggle with challenge

I also suspect have received indulgence from your parents and - I’m guessing - you’ve ended up working in some family business where you are flattered with a title which in reality means very little

You despite your bravado are essentially a child in a man’s body. Your parents clearly have indulged you much to the determinant of your own personal development

It’s pointless engaging with you. You are in essence a very young child in terms of debate.

I’m bored with you

Well if you really need to be spoon fed, you could do worse than listen to any of the numerous interviews given by retired colonel douglas macgregor.
He is no longer paid by the US military and isn't sponsored by any news corporation, and so is free to give his honest insights into Ukraine.
Some of his interviews can be found on YouTube if your interested.

Well worth listening to imo.

Fair enough you've totally convinced me. I've now realised it is all so simple. Amazed I haven't seen it so far.

The Eastern European equivalent of the Taliban will be backed, they'll drive Russia out, there will be much rejoicing... followed by plenty of beheading.

I used to know someone who watched RT all the time. The range of conspiracy theories they believed in was truly shocking.

It's impossible to predict, and unfortunately it is unlikely to be resolved in the short term.

Do you conceive a situation where Russia would ever surrender all of the territory including Crimea?

To that I say never.

OK this is painful.

Just to be clear we should of course be working towards a negotiated settlement and a compromise that saves the lives that will be lost in protracted battle, which neither side is going to win in the short term. Not to mention the potential destruction of the world through nuclear war and half the planet starving due the blockades on Ukraine. Whether such a settlement is possible who knows. And certainly you and I don't.

Learn the difference between fact and opinion.

Things change. Did you predict when the Soviet Union would fall apart? There were plenty of experts who were saying the day before the invasion that it wasn't going to happen. And they knew a lot more than you or me.

Looking more into this Macgregor character he seems to be cropping up every 2 weeks or so on various outlets proclaiming that Ukraine are going to capitulate in the next 24 hours. He’s clearly a crank. Not sure why you take him seriously Fatso.

Letting Putin have the land just weakens Ukraine ahead of the next inevitable invasion.

Get round a table and negotiate, which will inevitably mean loosing some land to Russia, probably the areas where the locals are Russian anyway, but its the only way to stop the killing.

And its inevitably going to happen in the end anyway.

The longer we supply Ukraine with weapons the longer the killing continues with no chance of success. The west is running out of ammunition while Russia has turned its amo factories to maximum output and is getting stronger everyday.
Wasn't that what happened in Crimea.

Do that and give Russia land give it a couple of years for Putin to stock back up and it all starts again, as it basically says if you invade another country you end up with more territory out of it. It'd be like giving a kid trying to steal a tray of cakes one of the cakes as a way to tell them off.
