You've just said collateral damage is unfortunate but necessary. Are you OK with innocent civilians dying or not? Or does that just depend on whatever point you're making at the time?

it’s you that’s prepared for civilians to die not me.

It needs a negotiated settlement and a peace deal not a tortuous elongated war which Russia will carry on and on.

In the end Ukraine will be destroyed and a shell of a country with its economy finished. That’s the reality unless a compromise is reached and territories agreed.

This will not end without peace talks

I think I read/heard somewhere that the US has spent the equivalent of 2 months of their annual military budget supporting Ukraine so far. Ukraine has made Russia military might look second rate thanks in part to that support and not a single American soldier has lost their life. Think of the money and lives that the US lost in the Cold War in comparison, especially in Asia. On that basis it’s the best return on investment in Americas military history.

Oh yes your predictions have been absolutely bang on so far haven't they.

Remember when you said Kiev was going to be taken inside a week?

You want no talks. You want the war to carry on - more men women and children dying or in abject poverty for decades to come

At least own it

I don't want talks because Russia are untrustworthy bastards and its utterly pointless. As if they'll stick to whatever they agree. I want Russia out of Ukraine.

You literally said you want Russia to crack on and rape and pillage their way through Ukraine so fuck off with your moral high horse, utter c**t.

No what I mean is the bloke who wanted Russia to crack on with raping and murdering their way through another country has no right to take any moral superiority.

I was agreeing with PVA who was responding to a specific comment your mate made, and I quote “I’m not seeing much reward from a cost benefit perspective”. If you have an issue with talking about the war in those terms I suggest you take up with your mate not me. Who is now finding his own perspective “bizarre”. Now that is bizarre.

Firstly, what relevance does that have to your support of Russia murdering and raping their way through another country?

Secondly, I was 13 at the time so had no real opinion or understanding of it.

Well I understand perfectly well that someone who supports the rape and murder of innocent people has no right to take the moral high ground.

Also, please work on your grammar and punctuation.

They are insignificant compared to a war involving opposing nuclear powers, how is that difficult to comprehend?

So is the answer just to let Putin take every country he wants because he threatens nukes? 'Might is right'

If we just say it's insignificant compared to nuclear powers, how many countries do we let him take because they're 'insignificant'? Every single one that isn't a nuclear power?

Punctuation on a football forum? That actually says a lot about you.

You seem to be mentioning rape and murder frequently as if that’s going to make me rather ashamed.

I hate to break this to you - and I guess it’s like when you were told the tooth fairy doesn’t exist - but rape torture (oh no my punctuation) and death strangely happens in war.

Your chums in the US rather enjoy that - a good old dose of Nepalm as well when it suits. That cuddly guy JFK - who I’m sure you’d see as a good guy - really liked it and once consider (couldn’t be bothered to correct) dropping a nuclear bomb on India.

You are at Astute levels of irony here. You think it’s somehow clever to assign rape and torture across to me whilst backing a US strategy that will actively encourage it and very much consider it the price worth paying.

Ukraine are not in NATO - there is zero nuclear threat as Putin will not step foot on NATO soil unless we start to send troops into Ukraine. Pakistan is a nuclear power and an ally to Putin? Shall we involve some other countries who are allied to Russia?

Right now, no. His aim is to rebuild the USSR.

But imagine he does that. He's going to feel like he has been right all along and in fact the world needs to be taken away from western ideals into Russian ones. And after his success he's clearly the right person to do it.

You're really underestimating the mentality of people like Putin. With each success they feel emboldened to go one step further because clearly they're right.

People said Hitler would stop after Austria. Then after the Sudetenland. That worked out didn't it?

Face it, you're Chamberalin waving that peace of paper claiming peace in our time.

Ukraine and its people would disagree, they don't want talks.

Russia would probably end up asking for talks before Ukraine would.

The only way Ukraine is able to have that stance/would be able to disagree would be from funding being continued. If they repeatably refused peace negotiations, i'm not sure how long citizens in some countries in the west would consent to the ongoing funding.

Yes obviously if funding is pulled then that changes significantly.

But the US has been very clear that they support Ukraine in refusing peace talks which involve Russia keeping any territory that is not theirs.
