That thread posted there could apply to many facets of life in the UK, a country completely subjugated to the city of London.

Tsymbaliuk, the UNIAN correspondent in Moscow, has apparently reported General Ershov, the commander of the 6th General Army, has been placed under house arrest due to huge losses in Ukraine.

Listened to a podcast with Lieutenant General Richard Nugee earlier in the week and he spoke about the generals who have been killed in action in Ukraine, his take was that people that far up the chain are only on the front line if things have gone badly wrong.

I believe it's Russian doctrine to have Generals on or near the front line.

Remarkable coverage from the BBC. Even if Putin could take the whole country how does he expect to hold it with this type of resistance.

Yeah, that’s always been the case, even if he had overthrown government in a few days and replaced it, how do you maintain control without mass genocide ?! It would take tens or hundreds of thousands of troops.

Shambolic and totally ill thought through unless there’s something I’m missing or he genuinely thought enough Ukrainians would welcome the Russians in (bizarre as it sounds I’ve wondered if intelligence just told him what he wanted to hear)

Such an unnecessary waste of life

The shambles continues…

Another senior Russian commander killed
Defence minister disappeared
Up to 15k troops dead
Army being pushed back due to lack of supplies
Ministerial aides fleeing Russia
Think even Putins yachts been seized

Probably still be given rights to hold 2028 European championship ahead of U.K. and Ireland but surely questions are starting to be asked in Russia ?!

Obviously it's the outcome we all want, but Putin losing this war also worries me.
I can't imagine coming back to Russia empty handed and looking weak is an option for someone like him

Equall, if he's toppled by force, an unstable Russia could be a very dangerous place to exist.

There appear to only be least bad conclusions to this, really.

You can see them losing everything they’ve gained, including crimea if it carried on like this. Need some good old proper statesmanship to find a solution that works for all

Be interesting to see how they could spin it though.
Potentially up to 15,000 dead and seemingly nothing gained so far. Can't see them holding any Ukrainian cities either

Even though they're losing troops and vehicles like no Tommorow the war has far more Ukrainian civilians, mass graves being dug, not only that Russia has stupid amounts of troops they will win eventually, reminds me of the Okinawa, Japs held out for weeks when it was suppose to be a 2 day job losing thousands of marines for nothing.

He may not be wrong. But war in Europe is closer to home. I wonder if they’re taking note of the Ukraine conflict. I guess they are still focusing on their own back yard.

BP and Shell are set to make profits worth £40,000,000,000 this year. Let's put a windfall tax on these companies and use that funding to stop energy bills rising.

This being the same Soviet Union that guaranteed Ukraine's territorial integrity if they gave up their nuclear arsenal.

Putin's excuse for breaking that agreement is that the USSR no longer exists, I believe. Cuts both ways, does that.

I'll be up for throwing a few molotovs too....

Not sure I'd be in the queue for an ak47 for armed resistance....Last time I held an air rifle, I was nearly tasered by the merseyside matrix team....true story.

I'm a fucking dab hand with a nerf gun mind.

I spent a few minutes thinking about it. Decided that it is not worth it. I'll just emigrate to Scotland. Sturgeon will take refugees in. We only need half a dozen nukes in England and we are dust anyway. London, Birmingham, Manchester Newcastle... Portsmouth, Plymouth. Having said that about Scotland I think the nuclear subs will be based up there normally. Maybe the safest place would be New Zealand? I wonder if they take boat people in?
