It's a very good question, and one for which nobody has an answer for. Some people will still try to justify it though.

Question -How many empty seats vs Crewe .. you can phone a friend ..

Question number 2 - How many seats will be empty on Friday night?? so far it looks a good 7k and counting will be unaccounted for... why?

It's been a bit of a mess but I reckon the attendance will still be around 27-28k come Friday.

People want to go to this game though.

Disgrace that they are being deprived of that when there are thousands of empty seats.

Its hardly a disgrace there are 20 other games to go to.

So if come the end of the season there is a potential championship title game you will happily to see empty seats and not go yourself because you got to go to a meaningless Yeovil game?

What strange logic you have. In 50 years time the Yeovil game will be forgotten, the Gillingham game will always be remembered. It is a hugely significant game in the clubs history, and you cant understand why people want to go to that specific game?

If it's pay on the gate for their fans the club must expect that there will be some of the not claimed season tickets available for our fans to pay on the gate. Can't imagine they'd allow pay on the gate if there's no tickets for home fans as its very obvious what will happen in that situation.

Yeah I advocate that. If seats are going to be kept back from city fans we will just have to borrow some of Gillingham's.

The way you go on about it it seems the move to Sixfields was a great PR exercise.

By such logic you should have attended Sixfields for at least one game as that period will be referred to equally as much.

I picked a ticket up today so that's all I'm bothered about.

Nice to see you flow my posts closely. I concluded there would be hoards around tomorrow given more are going on sale so I drove up today instead.

There were four sales people there not the oft quoted two and it was the easiest ticket purchase experience I've ever had. To cap it all even our chairman was there.

By the fact they had managed to sell so many tickets in such a short time, given the complexities of having to set everything up virtually from scratch whilst sorting ST's out and trying to keep most people happy.

Yes, it's a bit of a mess but they're doing their best to sort it out.

the modern way is buy on line - ticket on smart phone or print out - no post - no driving to ground to have a wank fest with the chairman - top PLCs operate in this way!!

Was he one of the extra sales people, or was he still on juice duty? I recall the Thursday comment as I thought at the time it was maybe a bit too casual and optimistic, a bit like comments made by others about everyone who wants to go will be able to go. I think it will be choas getting in, what time are you rolling up?

Only if online works, didn't for me. Better to have ticket in hand than rely on the post. I'll bow to your greater knowledge about wank fests though.

Now that I agree with. To sell 28k tickets in two weeks is good. If we're saying that the club haven't been able to keep up with the demand then that is disappointing but forgivable and we would just hope they will learn from those mistakes.

What is annoying people, well me anyway, is the vague information as to why certain parts of the ground cannot be opened. They haven't given a legitimate reason as to why 500 Gillingham fans + segregation need 4000 seats when 1500 Crewe fans + segregation needed only 2500 seats.

It has been a logistical nightmare, that much is true, and the fact the IT system isn't up to scratch is hardly the fault of the staff on the ground.

All that said, people will not be able to get a ticket for this game, and they'll turn on the TV and see several thousand empty seats. It is perfectly reasonable for them to ask why they couldn't have had one of those seats. An explanation is needed, that's all, because we haven't really had one.

Yep, if you like sitting behind the goal it looks like your screwed for the Yeovil game. Both ends unavailable according to the online sales site.

Here is the crewe game and if I remember correctly there was 1.5k of them werent there?

I have no ground map so im guessing block 9 is segregated or is it 8?
No reason why that could not happen again so any other reason the club gives is bollocks

It's 8. The two blocks to the left of the segregation are 9 and 10 which won't be used on Friday.

Simplistic plan would have been:

Forget the season ticket renewal business, start afresh and make everyone apply for season tickets (quoting their previous season ticket seats from 12/13 if they wanted to retain them). Set a cut off day for this e.g the Monday just gone.

Put all remaining tickets on general sale the next day (Tuesday, Online and Club Shop).

Set Gillingham's allocation to 1000 (a single block) in the knowledge that its a Friday night etc.

Don't bother with POTG as this will just cause havoc on match day.

How they've managed to cock this up I'll never know.

Pretty ridiculous then in my book, Ive got a ticket but nothing beats a full stadium.

Better get themselves set for a lot of cov in with gillingham then - a situation much more likely to cause arguments and problems then less segregation

That's not concrete yet though. I can still see them opening if the demand is there.
