Which players do you think are underrated at CCFC? Personally, i think Chris Dunn can be our new number 1 as Murphy is struggling a bit lately, making a couple of mistakes and saving shots right into the path of a waiting striker. Maybe its time for Dunn to come in. Thats my opinion, what about you guys? Who do you want to be given another chance at City? Who's the most underrated player at Coventry City?

Dunn's somehow cultivated a reputation from making substitute appearances on a few early wins, and not being Joe Murphy. I don't get it.

Murphy is being a bit crap lately. He's parrying shots towards on-coming strikers and gifting them goals. Dunn parries the ball away from the goal. Murphy is more of a reflex keeper and Dunn is a smarter keeper. I'm not saying Murphy is bad but he's im bad form and its the perfect to give Dunn his chance. If not we might as well sell him cus he's doing nothing but sitting on the bench. Burge could do that

Joe Murphy is a top keeper at this level and Chris Dunn is a nobody at any level. He has saved us many times this season and his place in the team is not up for discussion. With Cody and ROD seemingly going, I reckon it's time for Shaun Jeffers to being given a go, even if its off the bench.

What have you seen of Dunn to say how good he is? He's barely played, and surely he'd be forcing his way into the team if he was a smarter goalkeeper.

An example of these mistakes in recent weeks would be great...

I agree there. Jeffers seems like a hot prospect for us. Murphy is in a rut atm. He was top last season and im not saying sell him. I'm saying give Dunn a couple of games and let him prove himself. From the little i've seem form his he's a good prospect and i'd like to see what he can do in that environment

Example 1: Shrewsbury. Could have put it over the bar and pushes it straight to a waiting striker and costs us the game. He's quality and on his day theres hardly anyone better but he's in a rut and needs to find some form

Wow, that was a top reflex save from about 3 yards out. After that its about who wants it more and Marvin Morgan wanted to get onto the second ball more than Wood and The Edge

Oi! This is banter. Dont make this personal. I like Murphy, he's class, but lately he's had a couple of dodgy performances and i would like to see what Chris Dunn can do. Murphy's not gonna be here forever and we need to plan for when he leaves. Dunn is at that age where he needs to play or he's not gonna be a top player. Whats wrong with that? I dont see how wanting to give a player a chance makes me an idiot.

And what if Dunn makes worse mistakes than Murphy?

One of Dunns only games for us, skip to 0:25...

Murphy has gained a lot of points this season and we wouldn't be where we are without him - FACT!

That is schoolboy error goalkeeping and Murphy would have dealt with that easily!

In the meantime I am scratching my head in thinking how the 'error' Murphy did on New Years Day is an error!

yes, i agree it was a good save but it went straight to an attacker. that isnt the only error he's made. im not saying he's a bad keeper. he's a very good one, but i think tis a good time for Dunn to have a go and give Murphy a rest

You have an opinion and I don't agree with it. Nothing wrong with that and my comment wasn't aimed at your opinion. But to suggest Murphy could have put the ball over the bar is idiotic, therefore my comment in that respect still stands.

Never seen anything of Jeffers to suggest he's got enough. I thought that Lobjoit had overtaken him anyway.

Not sure anyones particularly underrated in this squad at the moment. Maybe Elliot? We haven't seen Bell at this level but he has a habit of hiding in matches.

Bell is fully fit again so he can have another go but Baker is captain so its gonna be toughf or Bell to win his place bak. And Elliott deserves a chance. Clarke has been crap in his 2 games for us. He's only done well at 1 club. I'm not writing him off by any means but Elliott deserves a shot

Now that Baker has shown some improved form Murphy is todays scapegoat - at WHL some genius was even blaming him for every Spurs goal! I think part of the problem is Murphy is actually quite small by todays standards of massive keepers and doesn't look imposing - Dunne looks more the part yet successive managers have preferred Murphy to Dunne and now is certainly too crucial a time to be experimenting especially when its not necessary. At this level there are few better keepers than Murphy.

How can you say Clarke has been crap, against Shrewsbury he could of had a hat-trick and despite being on his own for most of the Spurs game when we did get and keep the ball he linked the play well

Deary me, where to start...

Firstly are you under the influence of Alcohol, narcotics, excessive amounts of caffiene?

Are you in need for a trip to the opticians?

Dunn, has basically pulled off a decent save during a subs appearance in our 1st home victory last season, each and every other time, he has looked a little suspect but as a young keeper will no doubt improve with age.

Murphy last year was not ok. He was very low on confidence, would not take any responsibility for claiming a ball from a cross or receiving a back pass even if defenders were forced to clear it with their weaker foot not allowing them to make a clearance which would relieve pressure on us. Remember Crystal Palace away last year proper mistakes from a player who should be better.

This year (before Robins) Murphy was showing signs of increased confidence and as such better performances, since Robins he has got to the form levels which I think the majority of fans expected of him, he has won us points with some of his saves this season.

As for his "mistake" against Shrewsbury then going back even with my dodgy memory dont think he had any chance of tipping it over and thought it was an excellent stop in the 1st place.

As for your analysis of Clarke, 1 subs appearance, 2 chances one cleared off the line. 1st full appearance against the team currently in 3rd place in the prem.

Behave yourself.

Sorry mate, but with a reflex save like that I'm afraid you don't have time to catch the ball with one hand and heave it out to the right back! The mistake there came from the defenders not tracking an opposition player.
