Just saw something on social media about there being loads of things underground other than the casino.

What else is there? I know there is the big hall there things are and the offices but didn't realise there was more underneath.

I thought the casino was most of the footprint of the exhibition hall tbh, would need to dig out the original planning application

Under the exhibition hall (which itself partitions into two spaces) is the casino and a further 3 convention halls.
1 1000sq m
1 smaller 260sq m
And 1 auditorium for 650 people

Doe the space go back to the hope that the Arena would be the site of the super casino in the late 2000s? The one that would have had all the Vegas style slot machines. The plan was abandoned by the Government, although somewhere else, Manchester I think, was chosen for it anyway

Yes. The true size of the casino is massive. It could just never be fully used.

Lots of potential for Doug then. You could use it for corporate next season but there are insufficient available seats in the ground for extra people aren’t there? Unless they get rid of some of us . I was reading the other day about a Manchester United fan who is being moved from the season ticket seats that generations of his family have used for more corporate space . Hope we don’t do stuff like that

We could let leicester fans sit in their and listen to the premier league noise above them next season .

Kind of like a premier league package air raid shelter

Top one should be a cinema that shows Dougs home made pornography.

Whilst we’re talking about under… the new shop is going upstairs, into sizeable area too. From what I’ve seen/heard there’s going to be a new bar, golf simulator room, football simulator. Sounds promising and another improvement on what we have!

Based on this revelation that dropped yesterday

Paxman II said:
Biggest regret for me would not being able to go to Wembley in '87. I had a nightclub at the time, and a busy event and open that night of course. But did show it on our big projector screen more use to playing Michael Jackson's Thriller! As I was the DJ too, that night I teased Harry Redknapp's players from Bournemouth FC who would be in the club that night by replaying the goals over and over during the night!

Definitely have to stick a nightclub called Paxman II under there.

That was a fantastic gym, arguably the best in Coventry, and especially when considering the price.

Absolute travesty when it closed down.

Would be great if something similar could be opened (although would they consider it now that Pure Gym have a place on the retail park)

Apparently it's absolutely massive and there are loads of underutilised spaces.

Hopefulyl Douglas can turn it into a goldmine.

I'm assuming its where the Wasps players used to gather for a few rounds of soggy biscuit. Hopefully Doug has grander plans.

I have never seen it open since I turned 18 and have been able to go but am I right in saying there is a bar/nightclub within The Casino that they just never use anymore?

There used to be a sports bar and a restuarant down there. Think they reconfigured it a few years back, so the restuarant bit is basically closed off and the sports bar is never open.
