Shame for Maguire. Never let England down but no point taking him if he’s not fit. Sounds like shaws making positive progress…let’s hope so anyway

I hope not.

Rice + Wharton/Mainoo would be much more effective

Why do people think we will win the tournament?

Keeper, Defensively, and depth wise in the middle we are hilariously poor

Pickford is hardly poor and one of the best keepers in the league.

Defensively outside of the CB's we are fine, but the CB to partner stones ill give you that.

In the Middle we have more than enough.

Who else in the tournament actually has a completely rounded squad with depth in all positions?

International football is quite weak right now.

Southgate will stink the place out again. We will cruise the group, as soon as we come up against anyone decent we will be out.

I'm really struggling to give 2 fucks for the Euros, i think its Southgate thats turned me off international football.
The sooner this distraction is over and the new season starts the better.

Nothing more cringe than people who pretend they don’t care about England during major tournaments.

Caring about how your nation do during a major tournament is weird?

I actually don't care about England though. I've tried but its just not there.
I enjoy the tournaments but usually I couldn't give a fuck who wins it as long as its entertaining.

Gotta say I’ve next to no interest in friendlies or that Nations League faff. When there’s a major at stake then yeah I’m interested.

Similarly, I’m not really interested in our pre-season friendlies either.

International tourments are great.

You get wall to wall football for a few weeks and the weather is normally better so you can watch them out in the sun.

Also all your mates that support other teams all come together for England.

I also like that it's about building a team out of whatever you have, can't buy a great team.

love it.

The same France who are taking Kante? Sure they're decent but they're a far cry from their world cup winning squad.

Southgate’s attempt to make football as boring as possible has taken the interest out of it for me. Cue the usuals who assume that you’d rather watch hoofball 4-4-2 and just don’t get the sophistication, but watching players of the calibre of Bellingham and Foden be stifled by him isn’t my cup of tea.

that’s what I like to hear Ian !

Just been listening to Jamie Ohara saying it’s the best team and squad we’ve EVER had. Best team in the tournament ‘by a million miles’ ! bold statements !!! (presume he’d had a long lively lunch and wasn’t expecting the call !)

No, but getting more excited by players you dont see week in week out, paid ludicrous sums of money and ALWAYS underperform at tournaments, rather than the players you see week in week out representing your city, on a quarter at best of the money the England lot are on baffles me

I agree, love a Tournament and of course hope England do well but I never have, and never will have the feeling for them i do for Coventry City.

Celebrated Luke Shaws goal in the final accordingly of course, but that moment is still nowhere near how i felt for Hamers play off semi / final goals and Torps Winner v United

Well Cov don’t play any fixtures that actually matter while international tournaments are going on so there is literally zero need to choose between the two

There isnt you're right. I kind of wish i could get the excitement everyone else gets for England tbh.

I enjoy the tournaments as a whole though its fantastic to have wall to wall football for a month, hopefully the weather plays ball

Centre midfield and central defence look weak.

Think Mainoo or Wharton could surprise alongside Rice but the defensive options to partner Stones look particularly poor.

Any chance Bellingham plays a more box to box role alongside Rice and frees up Foden to play 10.

They’re also taking Camavinga, Tchouameni, Rabiot, Zaire Emery and Fofana for the CM spots… that is stacked.

Saliba won’t even start for them after being one of the best centre backs in the prem last season. And I haven’t even mentioned Mbappe.
