Yamal is too. Although arguably so is Saka. We don't really have that quality on the other side though, probably something we need to solve to get more balance.

I know he’s not fit, but the back of Southgate will be closely followed by the back of Kane at international tournos imo.

I think as a nation we just need to accept we will never win a tournament

It's been 58 years, we have had some unbelievable squads and never done it. Perennial losers

The sooner people come to terms with that they won't let it ruin thier lives. I've turned the telly over and chilled, not even pissed off with it

26 days until the proper stuff starts again

Eze or Gordon

Not saying they're as good as Williams, but they'll give us much better balance

With the exception of Foden, Walker and Stonesno one else plays that style of football for their respective clubs and I don’t think they could.

People saying some of our players will be in their prime at the next tournament. When are Williams and Yamal in their prime?!

Attacking, tricky and effective wingers and able to excel even when their focal point has gone off. Anyway, enough about Spain. England were pretty poor, but looked good for all of four minutes when we actually looked to attack.

I really really wanted Southgate to succeed, seems like a top guy with a lot of passion, but he's a sub-par manager, and we need someone able to unlock the true potential England have.

Yet today the only real weakness was Walker at full back, who has played virtually all of every game because the manager refuses to consider Trent. We could have caused a lot of problems today, yet again the manager shows far too much respect.

Saka and rice at arsenal play high intensity fast flowing football , cole palmer scored 20 goals this season.. Bellingham is up for the ballon D'or

The whole team can play fast flowing high press football

Also Mainoo will be fine in there in a qualifier against Faroe Islands or Luxembourg or something, but he's just not disciplined enough to play there against the top teams. He leaves so much space in behind him, we've seen it all season for Man Utd.

Wharton will be the answer there with another few months of PL football I think.

I don’t think we do need to accept that. Huge amounts of money and interest in the game in this country and most of the games in this tournament have been won by one goal.

What I hope is that this is the last display of the boring, negative football that’s plaguing the modern game and players stop being stifled by everyone wanting to be Pep 2.0

There wasn’t really a standout goalscorer at this tournament, 3 seems incredibly low to share a golden boot on

Yes, because he was given a free role all game. He's a great player but look at the contrast. Yamal man marked by Shaw, who did a great job. Other side Williams had Walker and Saka who weren't not sure who's job it was. He had so much time all game.

Wasn't expecting to win today, but to be at 85 minutes and then lose is so frustrating.

I don’t think we can effectively play a controlled and possession based style like Spain though.

I agree that we can look to play on the counter and at pace using the pace of our wide players that do well at their respective clubs.

Bellingham just looks knackered. Moments of absolute quality followed by something daft.

Shaw had a great first half against Yamal. Second half he was obviously struggling.

Can we stop making excuses for Kane, if he wasn’t fit, don’t fucking play him every game when you’ve got Watkins and Toney bench warming

We do not need to play a slow possession style and it’s not a requirement to win tournaments playing that way either. It is possible to be entertaining and successful regardless of what some think.

Not good enough. Too cautious. Sat back too much.

If Southgate stays, our only hope is to stumble through to the final again and just cross our fingers that we meet an inferior side.

Embrace our national identity, 4-4-2, two big lads up front, long goal kicks, massive 60 yard headed clearances, no short passing, two really hard midfielders who get more cards than successful passes.

Toney got 7-8 minutes of normal time all tournament

That’s not good enough, throwing strikers under the bus bringing them on at 89 minutes multiple times

Too pragmatic, too safe with the players we have . Was worried about replacing Kelvin Phillips when you've got Palmer , Eze, Gordon and others warming the bench . Stuck to an outdated system and style of play
