Kick off 1pm at the Higgs

Should be 3 or 4 from the first team squad looking for fitness
Would have probably been more without the cup replay

Yup get a some clues about tommorows line up from the line up for this.

I reckon Mason will probably start tommorow, needs game time. Otherwise may get a little work out today.

I hope that Giles might play a part in this match, if he obviously cannot play in the FA Cup. Be nice to ‘see’ what he might offer (by ‘see’ I’m going from what others who will be there who can report on here...sadly I’m working today)

Only one CB in the XI. No idea what this line-up will be.

I think Bosma has played there before
His shirt number suggests he will play alongside Williams number if it's a back 4

I'd imagine if Jones can complete 70+ mins today, he'll be pushing for a sub spot in first XI from now on.

Was half hoping to see him on the bench tomorrow

4-4-1-1?

Billson
Burroughs Bosma Williams Newton
Wakefield. Eccles Ngandu Kastaneer
Jones
Hiwula

maybe Kastaneer and Jones swap?

Didn't he complete 90 mins last week?

Hiwula playing is a surprise but I suppose Baka and max starting tomorrow would mean Godden on bench and no place for hiwula

Yeah, so it's essentially his pre-season. So another 70 to 90 mins today and he should be up to speed in terms of a base fitness. I'd expect him to be a regular sub very soon.

He's played 3 x 90 mins for the U23s plus came on at half time in his first U23 game at Charlton
So getting plenty of game time and from what I hear getting about the pitch and getting good stats for distance covered etc.

I'm worried about Burroughs constantly getting moved around. I know being versatile is a good trait to have, but I think one of the big reasons Ivor Lawton didn't make the breakthrough (apart from the knee injury) was the fact he played in defence so much for the 23s instead of midfield.

I'm surprised that Giles isn't in todays squad, as he can't play tomorrow.

QPR the better team, goal was a good header from the corner, Kasta and Hiwula non existant. Jodi looks like the only one who can make something happen

QPR have got Angel Rangel at RB who's played for how many years in the prem/championship and a RM who's tearing us up

0-2 FT

I think the early season wins for the 23s were down to 5 or 6 first team players playing most weeks - now we’ve got closer to an U23 side we’re not doing as well

Biamou has scored 5 more than any other player but is 29 years old

Yeah I agree, plus u23s is always a cobbled together squad, difficult to get any sort of stability or pattern of football. Plenty of young-uns coming through though. As long as Tisdale tries to instil Robins ethos, they should come through ready to go.

Good to see some of our senior players trying hard to get into Robins plans!
