I agree that someone who can hold the ball up; fights for the ball and flicks on like Max but can also score would be optimal. Not averse to trying Walker/Godden but I suspect that both of those would do better with Max assuming current personnel.

Biamou has no real body strength and can’t hold up the ball

Fletcher at Stoke (yes we can’t afford him) is the type of player we need

I think he might to play for his home town club but only if money was comparable.

Although he has the experience now he's not a long term option with high resale so it would be a bit against our transfer policy.

If anything were to happen here I reckon it'd be more along the lines of a Godden replacement if we're worried about his long term fitness with the injury and decide to sell him on. Don't think any of Walker, Godden or Collins would be happy playing the back-up, hence why I can see the thinking behind keeping Biamou - he'd be more willing to accept that role and not cause a fuss.

He's on a free in the summer could we match what Luton would be paying him?

Probably. But the issue of keeping Walker, Godden and Collins happy still remains in that scenario. Admittedly it'd be a nice problem to have and if Godden does end up having a recurring injury we've got that other option readily available.

Budget also needs to be considered as it'd take a fair chunk and we'd have to consider how that would affect plans to bring in improved ACM's and CB's.

Walker, from what we've seen, is quite a prospect...i'd actually forgotten how many goals he'd scored for Lincoln and Mansfield.
I just wish the guy would look a little happier...you know, go a bit mental when he scores...at the moment he barely cracks a smile.

I prefer when players are angry when they score. The “about fucking time, have that” type.

Alan Shearer famous for not going mental when he scored. I’ll take that.

A completely different level though. Shearer at his best could only dream of being Tyler Walker.

He looks good in a two. Would be interesting to see how him and Godden would get on together, but think we’d be better off signing a new strike partner for him in the summer should we stay up.

He does look like he doesn't want to be here at the moment. I'm sure he does though!

I don't think he does look like he doesn't want to be here. Or am i being overly (double) negative (or positive)?

A lad at work who is a forest fan was really pissed off when they sold him and said he will definitely score goals for you.

Collins is a on a relatively low wage at Luton 4k a week. I'm sure we could easily match that.

He tracks back though and attempted to lure the T-Rex away from the car. Put a proper shift in.

Didn't score though, despite his obvious attempts with Ellie.

I am reliably informed that he just usually looks like that. Not much of a smiler apparently. Nice lad though I am also told (by a Forest fan).

Wasn't he scoring at a similar rate to Toney in league 1 last season? Could have easily finished top scorer if he'd have stayed all season. Glad we have him, he'll prove to be an excellent signing.

No he scored 17 in 41 (2 in 5ish games), Tony scored 24 in 34 (2 in 3ish games) still good but nowhere near as prolific as Toney

Think your stats on Walker are a little off due to him going back to Forest. 14 in 29 for Lincoln and I think he and Toney were on the same number of goals in January.

Fair enough. Good but still not as good as Toney. 2 in 3 is phenomenal.

Walker 162 mins per goal
Toney 109 mins per goal
Godden 140 mins per goal
Just for giggles...Max 162 mins per goal, baka 263 mins per goal

He scored 14 in 29 from what I can see and was recalled in Jan. Would have at least finished as the leagues 2nd top scorer by some distance.

This is a good one, scored 32% of his teams goals for the season despite being recalled in Jan.

Took the steam out of Lincoln when he got recalled, got him some Champ experience, took a rival away and gave us the opportunity to pick him up after promotion. Couldn't have gone better.

....people would be wondering what the fuck you were playing at as they've got better players and he's not contracted to them anyway. They'd probably also question why you were choosing the team rather than the manager and coaches.

Usually health warning about the assists stat, but Godden is the only player other than O’Hare to have more than one assist this season.

I think they have different strengths. Godden was good last season because he can hold it up and bring others into play, while also being an excellent finisher.

I don’t think the difference in overall quality between Max and Godden is small enough to bring Max in for his other benefits. But I would like to see a Championship quality version of Max next season to partner/rotate with Walker and Godden with Max as 4th choice.
How come ? I haven't looked at all our goals as a study .. but just on Saturday Max got the penalty and then it was his initial interception for the second goal. I think far too many on here have made their initial comments on Biamou 2 or 3 years ago and are continually trying to find ways of backing those initial thoughts up. In reality he has done more than a fair job in very difficult circumstances. I for one see a guy who works his socks off, is constantly trying to help his team with a lot of intelligent pressing and movement off the ball. His first touch is lacking but so are quite a few others and I feel his overall contribution more then deserves a place in the squd and at the moment the starting line up. So much so that he seems to have even convinced Robins that if he and another striker are available and fit we get to see 2 up top. Long may that continue, as for the last 3 years it has proven to be the best formation in whatever league or cup we have been playing PUSB!
