If he's too be the greatest player we've ever produced he should be commanding a first team place in a Championship side surely ?

What's his injury got to do with anything? He played enough last season didn't he?

He should've stayed with us and developed. He (more to the point TM's) is one of the reasons why we failed to finish in the top 6 as we played a player that didn't want to be here.

As I said Callum Wilson is a better player we have produced. He plays in week in week out for Bournemouth. Also Cyrus Christie plays week in week out for Derby. Wheres Maddison?

After how his last loan deal turned out, I don't think we'll be taking him back anytime soon

Maddison is a decent player and imo will go on to be a very good player.

The only reason I'm unsure if I'd have him back on loan is because when he was here on loan he seemed like his head was else where.

More than good enough for us in league one if his head with is in it.

I'd take Maddison back but don't think Norwich would want him playing in league one where protection for players like Maddison is poor.
If Maddison's head is right (and I'm not convinced it would be) he would be a very creative player at this level. However a tendency to be felled by every sniper in the stands Doesn't make the mark he is capable of.

I don't think they would want him playing in the same league as them and maybe having an influence on there own team so would have thought league one would be the right place.
After all if he is good enough for there rivals he should be good enough for them.

Willie Carr didn't come through our youth team he was bought for buttons as a 16/17 year old from Cambridge City by Jimmy Hill but by the time he made his debut Noel
Cantwell was manager

Twitter is like ' someone we don't know said'.
Hate it when the news says ' it's on Facebook' as if it is gospel.
Sad world really while people get to grips with it.

I remember seeing Willy in the reserves before he broke into the team, in those days you would get a 1000 for a reserve game, I think they opened the main stand, I was definitely standing in the terrace in front of the seats and looking from the side. Likewise pretty sure I saw Denis Mortimer coming back from injury in a reserve game too.

At 16 0r 17 he would have become part of the youth set up. Was I think still a teenager when he scored a hat trick against West Brom second season in Div 1.

Absolute rubbish, these are much better:
1 Denis Mortimer
2 Danny Thomas
3 Jimmy Holmes
4 Mark Hateley
5 Willie Carr
6 Graham Paddon (Norwich fans will agree)

Yes he was just a kid but was purchased by JH not developed. He came with someone else a centre forward Trevor can't remember his surname. Jimmy Hill plucked some real diamonds out of non league Carr, Ernie Machin, John Tudor, Dave Clements from Wolves reserves

're Willie Carr. It is like who developed Peter Beardsley, Wallsend Boys Club, Newcastle United or Carlisle United?

I'm not sure mowbray would want him back anyway, he went from golden boy to mowbray not even selecting him on the bench for the last few games.

Don't believe its true but I think he would benefit massively from another season here. Think Norwich should have sorted that at the time of his signing. A player with 2 seasons under his belt (given how much of last season he left) would be a much better addition for them.

Have they said why they aren't sending him out on loan? Doesn't look likes he's getting in their squad.

Or Murphy, who our fans couldn't help but berate for the majority of last season and is now scoring goals in the Championship.

Willie Carr certainly did come through City's youth team. Jimmy Hill may have picked him up from an insignificant non-league team but he was an apprentice with us and playing in the FA Youth Cup in the 1965/66 season aged just 16, alongside players such as Mick Coop and Trevor Gould. He played in 1966/67 season, and again in 1967/68 when City reached the final. Those of us that were watching the youth team at that time knew he was destined for stardom, although injury stopped him reaching his full potential.

Incidentally, Carr's league debut was as a substitute under Jimmy Hill in a 1-1 draw at Arsenal in September 1968. He had made 3 full appearances as well by the time Cantwell took over from Hill a few weeks later.

No thanks, he was a player with potential worth developing for us, but not worth bringing in on loan, better is available.

What has age got to do with it? It winds me up when people say 'Oh but he's only 19/20/21 he's still learning. Marcus Rushford has just been to a major finals at 18. Liverpool fans weren't saying "he'll improve soon he's only young" about a 16 year old Michael Owen. Garry Mcsheffrey made his debut in the premier league for us at 16. At 19 with his talent he should be an u21 international regular not a championship u21 prop up. The only benchmark we have is from his u21 games where he looked phenomenal but playing against men is completely different. Great footballing brain no doubt, but with the body of a 12 year old and a habbit of diving he's a target for lumping great centre halves. If he is as good as half of you make out, why has he not been picked in a single Norwich squad this season? Arma at the same age has over 30 youth caps for England but Madders only has one call up and missed the game through injury.
I'd happily eat my hat if City make a nice windfall in add ons if he makes it big but I think many of you have him way too high on a pedestal.

Maddison will go on to be better. Because he left the club the fans turn on him then bring up redundant points like "he wears a hair band" and he "dives" so what? He's an exceptional talent and he will go on to be a good premier league player.

I'm too young to have seen pretty much all the names being mentioned in here, so I can't compare Maddison to them.

He's certainly the best talent we've produced in my lifetime though and the first time I saw him was a pre season game against Watford. After only 2 or 3 touches of the ball I immediately said he would play in the Premier League one day. He clearly has an incredible amount of ability.

He is a decent player and will become a very good Championship maybe lower prem standard if he applies himself. Whilst tempted I don't feel he is the player we need at this stage and if he will sit on the bench for long periods of time then is it worth it. I will say that he could be an impact player which we don't have anymore.

Richard Keogh used to dive all the time, why was this never bought up? Because he used to wank the fans off and never wore a head band?

No, I said that at the time.

Shocking trying to win penalties.
