Was told at the weekend the Ricoh side of the deal, which doesn't concern SISU is done and dusted, exactly what that means I don't know, is it the Higgs Trust, the Council or both ? But SISU still playing hard ball

got my doubts ER (not doubting you were told it and you are relaying it in good faith).... my understanding is that neither the council nor charity will even consider selling their interests in ACL or freehold until they know that the club is viable (plus other criteria)- i don't see how that assurance can be given without owning the club. Not sure the charity or ACL have had detailed talks about any disposal from what i know. Of course the council could sell the freehold but that still means proving viability. NOt saying what you heard is wrong just that i would be surprised if it was accurate right now

They may have been able to provide proof of funds, etc..

First sign it would be in the right hands is potential new owners recognising the club need to own the stadium to be viable. No reason they couldn't agree a deal in principal with certain conditions (i.e. owning the club)

Would that mean Hoffman can put the rent up to 3 million per season and force SISU to groundshare with Cov Rugby Club?

not what ER was told though is it .... was told the deal was done ......... which you might think ACL and charity would be aware of. Proof of funds could only be provided on any purchase of the stadium because they dont know what the deal is for the club. But viability isnt about the purchase price of the club it is the detailed plans going forward

Owning the stadium is not the only way to be viable and buying it creates a liability and an asset in equal proportion on the balance sheet. Owning or having rights to the income streams is the important thing and you dont need to buy the stadium to do that.

I want SISU out but this is also a great opportunity to set our club up properly and that isnt necessarily dependent on buying the stadium or the 50% shares in ACL

Ok its an ideal world, but I want all of the ownership to the ground and the income streams and no rent to pay. We can then plan properly and reap the benefits of anything we actually make. I would have sacrificed league standing to get this and said dimilar last year when were selling and not investing, in fact I thought for some time that was the major plan of SISU and Icould have accepted all of this crap if it was as it would create long term stability. Now it looks like we have reliquished league standing and still nowhere near owning the income stream.

The one gamble imo is whether you buy now or finance a team to get in the PL and then purchase out of the extra income knowing full well you'll go down that season but on a better footing. Tough call but owning is important for long term imo.

It may not seem economically a priority at the moment but to the longterm future and to improve fan affinity it has to be done ,and assuming a takeover by some miracle is achieved ,hold your breath ,i hope they can conclude this aspect.

That's the thing with Social Media sites you don't need to have read the actual tweet as it then spreads through Facegeek, text etc.

I would imagine, like I have tonight, he has probably heard/read it elsewhere.

If anything it just shows how absolutely desperate we are for good news that things like this travel so fast.

Cov Mad misleadingly list the fake meeting story with a headline that suggests it's real to pull in people and then goes with:

With no statement from the club as to the result of any such meeting, it appears that the fakers, some of whom are being investigated, it is understood and could end up facing possible legal action, may have struck again.

'It is understood' that Cov Mad makes up shit on the spot. Further evidence can be found above.
