Having been out so long it can't been seen as a great loss.
The money we get has to be useful for our club currently where Turner has not been apart of for some time.

So yesterday we were getting £750k + a player, today were getting £750k. Someone one the board must be really good at haggling

if the parkin deal collapsed, how come the turner one didn't? why were they mutually exclusive?

i didn't want parkin but surely we could have haggled for more money seeing as he isn't a part of the deal anymore?

mong negotiators

I would bet the deal was either £2m in installments with £300k up front or £750k straight cash as the fks are selling up or going into admin tomorrow

Well I guess the deals were kept seperate incase one did break down. so 750k for Turner was the price what ever happened, but they probaly offered us parkin at a reduce fee of 100k, so if both deals were completed it would be 650k + Parkin, but clubs like to make out they got better deals then what they did.

750k is 750k more than we had this time yesterday, for a player we haven't seen since November isn't the worst thing i've heard to be honest. Much rather have a striker who's gonna play against Derby and hopefully start bangin' the goals in than a defender who alright I thought was one of the best we had but doesn't play and the type of injury he had and the amount of time he was out I wouldn't be surprised if the injury comes back later on in the season

Welsh team: "We are offering £700,000 for Ben Turner"
CCFC: "We would like £1m"
Welsh team: "We can't go that far, £750,000"
CCFC: "Let's make a deal, £900,000"
Welsh team: "£750,000"
CCFC: "£800,000"
Welsh team: "£800,000"
CCFC: "£750,000 it is"

Does it not seem odd to anybody that a nothing newspaper is breaking this story, and not either of the clubs or SSN??

750k is disgraceful, when we were getting parkin aswell it was bad but this is just terrible.

a club with half a brain would have kept him til january so he could prove his fitness then flog him for £2.5 mil when he was back to his best!

he is better than matt mills and how much did he cost lester??

im fucking seething.

Agree Brinner but they have no intention of being here in January is all it suggets. He has a long contract and certainly won't be worth less than £750k in Jan so they must be on their way (silver lining?)

Exactly what I have been saying, but people just respond we don't need him we have Nathan Cameron or something stupid along those lines.

That's the thing, what if he isn't back to his best? Yes he played well for about 13 - 14 games and scored a few. That doesn't make a season, the season before he didn't stand out and he has been out for nearly a year.

Yes, he was great when on form but let's be realistic. When Freddy goes on his scoring runs and gets like 5 in 3 or whatever does that mean he is worth £5 million?

There is no way we would get £2 million for him. The season before last, people were slating him because he made mistakes and just hoofed it. He did the same next season but made a couple of last ditch tackles and scored a few goals and he is suddenly the next England Captain.

Leicester are throwing silly money around, everybody will be putting their prices up when Leicester come knocking.

I agree, he's a our best defender regardless of fitness. I think we'd only get the same fee for sammy too. we've shown our hand when it comes to what offers are acceptable

Even if he didn't come back to his best a young player with potential on a long term contract wouldn't decrease much in value from 750k.

Beginning to see how SISU aren't able to improve revenue if they insist on giving away a player like Turner for only 750k.
There'll be the normal spin about add-ons, sell-ons etc.
But this is well under his value. Surprised Brum didn't come back in.

Regardless of injury, he's just signed a long term contract extension. With the Parkin deal collapsing, it should have been a £1million plus deal. Especially considering I expect part of this fee to be what pays for CMcD.

Form over 14 games is a lot different than form over 3 games. If Freddy goes and scores 13 goals in 14 games expect him to be sold in January.

Like I say even if he doesn't get back to his best surely his value won't decrease much if at all. It would have made sense to wait till January or next summer.
