Did anyone else think Tudgay's goal celebration or lack of, had a surreptitious meaning behind it ?

He said it was just a bit of frustration, people have accused him of just being happy to pick up his wages every week when it isn't like that he said. Probably feels he hasn't been given a fair crack here.

Any player can have a good game. Any player can have a bad game. But when a player has a bad game then can't get into the team when his replacements are doing badly nearly every game is a player getting a chance? Hopefully yesterday we saw the Tudgay that most of us thought we had signed.

To be fair to him. He has started how many Games? Guessing around 7 league games so it's not like he has been given a proper chance. Yes his form wasn't good at the start of the season but it was 7 games. Give the lad a break and get behind him. If he has a good end to the season we will want him for another year.

The team have actually done decent when he's started games which I was surprised to see, with Mcquoid and Miller probably leaving I think there's a place for him in the squad.

I like the system we're playing at the moment with two strikers playing off the central striker, Tudgay seems a natural replacement for Madine in the system if either he leaves or as back up to Madine.

Without being unfair to the guy it seems strange that he has found form when told that he wasn't any longer needed at the club. In the games he's played previously for us he has shown total disinterest but let's hope that this revival continues, only time will tell.

2 points.

1. Back to form? He has had 1 good game since being told of no future.

2. Disinterested? That's how he plays football. You could accuse leon clarke of that but imo is one of the best players we've had since league 1.

Exactly, you could have a striker breaking his back running 200 miles every game and doing nothing or a Stern John type who won't run much but get you goals when given a run.

One further point, you obviously weren't present to observe the inept performances on his previous seven outings. At least Leon Clarke made some impact with his scoring record. However, as I've said, I hope that the revival continues but the cynic in me doubts his motives.

However I've

Don't strikers need to get a few games and actually build up a partnership?

Anybody remember that run Freddie Eastwood had when he got a good run of games, then when he came on every so often as a sub he was awful.

I agree with that too, I think with a good run he would have scored goals.

Exactly, I don't think you can put a striker on for 10 minutes every couple of games and expect loads of goals. They surely need to build confidence and get a run going?

I thought Tudgay was top class on Saturday and I thought he was right to celebrate how he did considering the amount of twats giving him stick Saturday even when he was performing well.
