... I’m feeling very positive about next season. I think most of the players on the retain list (Haynes aside) are more than capable of stepping up. Tony Andrews coming back from injury will be like a new signing and we’re already doing some good business pre season. I’m not going to kid myself that we won’t sell anyone but we can hope. But if we can contain the momentum from the playoffs I just can’t help get the feeling we might pull of a double promotion. All the ingredients are there.

Probably be in a relegation battle now

Hope you haven't had Tony Andrew's name printed on the back of your shirt!

This isn't a dig at you, but I really don't understand the constant highlighting of Haynes' apparent deficiencies. He is nowhere near as bad as made out and not the route of any defensive problems we've had. He can play at League 1 level as can Stokes.

I too am optimistic. Season ticket was bought weeks ago and I think we can be there and there abouts at the end of the season.
Think we could lose both McNulty and Bayliss, be a shame but money talks.
But philosophical and if they go, we say thanks for the memories and get on with it.

Bizzarley I saw Haynes on Monday about 7pm on Wembley High Road near Flannerys. In full official tracksuit. I introduced myself and he explained he was waiting for his mate. Had 5 minute chat with him, gutted he didn't get on due to injury.
Nice lad. I was half pissed and told him what I think were his streghts and weaknesses.

I bet he thought "fuck off fatty'

I’ve tried so hard not to be down on Haynes but last season (during the Lincoln home game I think it was) I just couldn’t find a single thing to be positive about his game. His biggest problem for me is he looks so laboured on his decision making to the point where due to that he loses opportunity and momentum and that only leaves him with one decision and it’s always negative and then rushed leading to us either going backwards or losing possession through rushing. Wouldn’t slag of his basic skills but in the professional game I don’t think he’ll ever get the time on the ball he needs to get the most from his basic skills and in a nutshell that’s why I think he won’t make it and it’s time to go.

He's often given the ball whilst he's pinned to the touchline with nowhere to go. Some of his movement getting forward is excellent, doesn't show that he's necessarily got a decision making problem. I think he struggles at the Ricoh at times as the crowd seem to be waiting on him making a mistake!

I’m optimistic but one of my main concerns in Andreu, when we signed him from Norwich
He was obviously a far better player than the level we were at but was injury prone.
I’d love him to be able to put it behind him and cement his position in the team but worry
He’s one of those unfortunate footballers who recover from one injury ‘only to quickly be
Stopped by another.
Hope I’m wrong.

I live in the Norwich area, when we signed him a lot of there supporters that I know were
A bit surprised he’d signed for a club in league 2, but put it down to being a bit of a luxury
Who was also injury prone, don’t know his stats tbh ‘so could be wrong.
Just when he was injured early season it ‘sort of made sense.

I also have noted some fans have decision making problems at the Ricoh, "Get it forward" "Tackle him" when those aren't really viable options.

Such fans have always been around. They are a cross for us sensible, rational souls to bear

Can also remember plenty on here and gmk a few years back saying get rid of Doyle , he's to old, he runs round like a headless chicken, he's shit. Now Doyle is a god. Seem to remember the other midfielders at the time were the laziest bastards around.

So I dont think we are going to sell many at all. Last season we had been relegated and we kept hold of Willis, Stevenson and other players who only earlier the previous season had been subject to bids. George Thomas and Cian Harried were the only players who left and this January just gone again we kept hold of out best players. We've just got promoted so the squad are playing at a higher level which is what they would have wanted. Yes maybe we will lose a Bayliss but if Maddison gets sold and we get a big cash sell on clause then I don't see why we would have to sell.

I could be wrong but I don't think we will lose McNulty.

Whatever people’s few on him there comes a point where a player needs to move on. He’s been here a long time and has never managed to retain his place in the team under any manager since Pressley.

In fairness he is a better player now (at this level) than when he was here before. Which fits my theory that players can develop and get better with experience.

I was worried we might be signing an experienced player whose legs would go (and we have signed plenty). But I admit Robins got it spot on and he has probably been player of the season, despite McNultys goals.

Which without a bid will probably be when his contract expires. In the meantime he can contribute to the squad.

I didn’t rate Doyle when he was first here and was massively underwhelmed when we signed him...I honestly didn’t know what he offered, until that is we beat Notts county 3-0 on first game of the season.
I’m willing to admit I clearly know nothing. However, I’ve got a nagging concern that we’ll need a player who can do what he does but a slightly better/younger version for league 1. I’ll quite happily be proved wrong again.

He's got another season in him, I'm positive of that. But I reckon we should get in an understudy now so he can teach him the dark arts.

right there with you

today in shower i was dreaming about new singer and jones leading us to back to back promotions

and then bayliss, jones, mcnulty, new winger etc all now being championship level players because they developed even more now signing new contractas and then we get promoted to prem like blackpool did and then we buy ricoh and then..............its a good game you should do it lol

thought i would revel in playoff win but now i cant wait for new season to begin, feel like the ccfc hoodoo of having pussy players with no winning mentality is gone, also fans are on side, we wont boo every stray pass for first few games anyway, lets play with confidence

say it with me

LEAGUE ONE ON TOUR!

I’d like to get some height in the team too. I’d hoped Vincenti would offer this but he is rubbish in the air.
