kcic is taking a break!

At Monday's Sky Blue Trust meeting, the Trust Board asked that the resolution (about the NTFC boycott, contacting sisu investors, pressuring the Football League and promoting the petition for an Independent Inquiry) be deferred till October
This is because the Trust believe it would not be helpful at the moment
The Trust have met with Joy Seppala as "honest brokers"
It was agreed to defer till October and kcic would not want to do anything to jeopardise the Trust’s current position
So kcic will take a break and in the Trust we trust!

In the meantime...

Cardiff game - If anyone wants to go to the hill for the Cardiff game please get in touch with the Trust and if they get adequate numbers they will run a coach

Would you normally have your Season Ticket or be thinking about getting tickets for Cardiff and Sheff U if we were at the Ricoh?

Amid the CCFC mess, kcic is keen to contribute to football in Coventry. We are happy to publicise requests for help from any local clubs - so don't be shy letting us know – this one comes from City fan, Sharon Taylor, who many of you will know.

Coventry Sphinx are keen to make some ground improvements
They would like to extend the hard standing as you enter the ground, including fencing and generally tidying up the area – the kind of small improvement that makes a big difference at this level
The cost is only a tiny fraction of Wayne Rooney’s weekly wage but for a grassroots club that avoids debt and has no rich benefactor it needs individual donations
So we would be really grateful if you would be so kind as to consider donating the price of a typical Ricoh ticket - £25 - to help grassroots football in Coventry
Access to cost price tarmac and volunteers to do the work would be very welcome too!

NOPM + MK Dons with the new season fast approaching, time to repeat yet again that...

NOPM founder Jim Smits always saw NOPM as being about showing the feeling of the fans by taking away the two major channels of commerce - 'home' games and merchandise and "Whilst NOPM was a good slogan to rally behind it wasn't meant to be taken totally literally as there will always be minor payments ending up with the club, but these do not amount to much. The big case in point was the Arsenal match. Yes, money ended up with SISU but it was not through direct sales and far more important was the show of solidarity of fans vs the reduced 'home' gates, and the opportunity to protest on TV. Possibly worth pointing out however that I'm not saying this just so I could go, as I watched on TV!" So boycotting NTFC and official merchandise remains important but no need for anyone to beat themselves up about any away games, coach travel, clicking on the CCFC website etc etc

With MK Dons, the message we hear from AFC Wimbledon fans is we should do what we need to do to protest and if anyone wants to use MK to highlight our plight it's also a good chance to emphasise that 'football clubs belong in their communities' and saying 'no to franchise football' with MK an example of that. So again, no need for anyone to tie themselves up in knots about going to MK

Saying no.to franchise football by going to the game and giving them money, makes sense.

I'm going to say no to killing animals for meat by going to mcdonalds and having a big mac.

I quite like the idea of taking a few months out as although they have good intentions they are not helping with these offers and getting in the way.

The trust have obviously met sisu and it was agreed KCIC take a step back. I agree with this.

I imagine the main reason for going to MK is to highlight that people won't go to Northampton with MK being 15 miles the other other side of Northampton and the home of Coventry City. 1500 (Coventry fans?) at SISU's "commercial tactic" ground compared to 7K plus Coventry City supporters despite it being further away for the main concentration of Coventry City fan base.

The sad history of Wimbledon franchise move is an unfortunate backdrop to this.

However Wimbledon move is irreversible SISU commercial tactic is still very much changeable. That is a subtle difference.

I remember this time last year when we had a cup game at Orient and it was asked if people who were NOPM should go as the club would get a cut. The general consensus was that trying to apply it to games like that would be more trouble than it was worth as some people wouldn't even realise the club would be making money. Of course as soon as we drew Arsenal it became a easy pot shot to say those going were no longer sticking to NOPM.

To kind of point out that the line is rather more fluid than some would have it, and once some make a fixed absolute they set themselves up for a fall too...

Anyway, glad to see NOPM starting to take a back seat, as it's been a flawed, ridiculous, divisive (yep, that word) campaign from the start and, worse, takes away attetion from the voices that should be heard... especially those denied a choice on going or not by the move.

I don't think you mean it this way but that comes across as "Its ok to be divisive so long as I wasn't the one that started it".

The only people who bring that up are those desperate to discredit any City fan taking a course of action other than their own.

It really is time to drop the use of 'divisive'. You can call for respect to be afforded to the tiny minority who go to sixfields and the even smaller number who after the JR still see acl as somehow to blame. But a very large majority have always boycotted NTFC, 88% said sisu should accept the kcic offer (and why some people on here say there was no offer is beyond belief) etc etc. So respecting a minority is a realistic argument to make but claims of division and lack of unity amongst an absolutely overwhelming majority of fans is just a fantasy.

So I guess anybody who goes to MK will pipe down about people who go to Sixfields

I don't think many who do go to Sixfields have said that they are going there as a protest to say no to Sixfields though like in the OP?

I maybe wrong but I think NW comment was more about NOPM and the Arsenal game, rather than your comment of being divisive.

I.e. staunch NOPM, not buying away tickets from the club so that they don't get the £1.50 booking fee, not buying any merchandise, etc, etc. building a rigid viewpoint....then we draw arsenal away.....

....and that rigid staunch NOPM viewpoint is amended to enable them to go to the match.

I think he was just pointing out that in that scenario the previously staunch NOPMers left themselves open to having stick. And tang the NOPM should have been a more flexible standpoint from the start...

Where have 88% said the offer should be accepted? Do 88% think ACL should now accept sisu's offer?
