The Sky Blue Trust are appalled at the latest turn of events. Liquidation poses the most serious threat to the future of our Club. Where today's liquidation leaves our club, we don't yet know. The Football League have not issued a verdict yet, but it has consistently failed to make decisions that have taken into account the views of the supporters and the community that sustain our Club. It has failed to stand up to the bullying and alleged legal threats coming from SISU, and it has still failed to investigate the role of Joy Seppala as a shadow director.

Today's publication of documents purporting to show that administrator Paul Appleton and SISU itself must have known all along where the Golden Share of the Football League lay all along is another area of deep concern for us which we call on the League to investigate.
We call upon all those involved to pause for thought before taking any further action. Please don't make a bad situation any worse. We urge the League not to take precipitate action to award the share to Otium. They must give full consideration to the detailed representations the Trust has made to them, in a detailed, evidenced dossier, before they take any decisions.

We would implore you all to finally look seriously at your responsibilities and act accordingly – what is needed now is the right action not a knee jerk reaction. The future long term viability of Coventry City must be the over riding criteria. Your actions will now be judged by thousands of Sky Blue fans and the world of football in general at a most critical time.

I wish they'd proof read these press releases first.

Have you got the one from about February when they said that the best thing to be done would be for ACL to put us into administration?

Wasn't that on Late Kick Off?

If a 'Trust' statement was going to make any difference, it already would have.

Does the trust know something we don't when asking for them not to give Otium the share? Surely that means no club?

Won't we need the share before we play a game?

The League can bend any of its rules at its own discretion since it's accountable to nobody.

Anyone else think someone seriously needs to investigate football from the top down starting with the FA and FL?

And FIFA...

The thing is, would it not be an old boys club like the Banking Situation where it slowly just gets swept away?

Would be great if the FL said that Ltd that there documentation shows the players are in Ltd along with the Golden Share.

Then because of the false information PA has to resell Ltd. Players and all.

Equally would be great if other documentation backed up that the arena lease was with Holdings and all the debt. (As is was ?)

So can they just give the "club \ league share" to any random person?

Football in this country is rotten to the core from the shameless pursuit of short term success at the expense of anything else. The national team is sinking like a stone because our best players don't care about it, the top flight is a commercialised bunch of club brands, and the clubs below have to break the bank to stand a chance of keeping up.

North of the border this is still yet to take hold and I for one seriously hope that they sort their game out and give me something decent to watch over the next 4 years I'm up.

There could potentially be an even bigger choice of options if a free fight were allowed...

FIFA and UEFA are beyond the remit of the UK Parliament I think but if it was a government thing where someone neutral was put in charge the old boy network might not be able to sway it. Doesn't the S in DCMS stand for Sport - Why don't they do something?

We appointed the wrong Appleton as administrator. Had it been Michael we wouldn't have to worry about an embargo or points deduction-or even SISU for that matter.

Well you seem OK with them giving it straight to the people who have put us in this position! And as for who SISU's investors are-betchya can't name some! Random enough for you?

Oh if only, but SISU have stitched the whole operation up in a bid to avoid such possibilities.

I haven't said I am ok with it, I am just saying does that mean they can just give it to anybody? Would they not need to buy the trademarks of the badge etc at least? It was a genuine question.

i think getting our club back - losing the badge would be a reasonable sacrifice

Not just SISU, all the talk is of a Haskell/Hoffmann/Elliott superhero triumverate.

Open it up to more; a free fight, fairest bidder wins.

Isn't that what we should be campaigning for? No names, no privileged bidders, no politicking to maneuvre some into positions of strength ahead of others... just come and have a go if you want the club enough?

By doing what they did with Portsmouth and refusing to consider any other bidder but a specified party, in this case suppose Haskell, then the administrator and SISU would be left with little room for manoeuvre.

I don't just mean the badge I mean all of the little bits like training ground etc.

For example SISU own the badge, training ground and players. Could the FL hand it to Haskell now if all he had was half the ricoh? Surely they need it back to be able to play tomorrow?

We don't even know what Joy looks like and thanks to the move to Sixfields we may never do so again.

Except this has never been a fair fight since the ARVO debenture, NW. Being able to write off Limited's meaningless debt as SISU can is entirely different to providing hard cash to clear the group debt. Put Sky Blue Sports and Leisure up for sale and then it's a fair fight.

No, but they shouldn't be giving it to Otium on grounds of them not being "fit and proper" persons. Other options weren't given a chance in any case as the administrator is blatantly SISU's man (and with the way SISU had arranged affairs).

If they gave it to ACL/BYNG consortium they would have to get some players unless SISU handed then over at cost. Hopefully not at the cost that Ltd paid for them - £60M.

Two separate arguments.

The club has been positioning itself to keep control.

Meanwhile, the media strategy elsewhere seeks to position one sole alternative that is the only option.

Both stink.

I agree it shouldn't just be handed back, but wouldn't the other parties have to show they had players, training grounds, academys etc?

Don't think so, FL can only hand out the Golden Share can't they?

Well for an academy there's the Higgs Centre, which could possibly count as training grounds etc. Players might be difficult though.
