Couldn't agree more. Sisu won't be our owners forever. Ccfc needs to still be here for someone to pick up what's left if anything the rate it is going.

They have been on the side of the majority of their membership.......
Just as it should be.
why did the trust restart and why did 99% join.
Anyway all need to get behind them now and show all parties that they have everyone's backing.
I know that Anne Lucus was upset that a protest was organised for the council house over the Wasps sale, that is why the meeting time was moved.
We need to get a bigger protest going outside the council house maybe even just a few fans there every day pestering and waving placards.
We need to become a that itch that flea they can't move.
Give there City of culture a kick that is their biggest plan for the City let's make them rethink their policies about CCFC We have the biggest fan base in the City let's remind them.....
We shall not be moved it's like the team who needs an academy we shall not be moved.....

And you can see the obvious again.

Will happily make a commitment to be there, will even take the day off work if it's during the day and I can but...

What's the betting they move it the last minute again?!?

I'd suggest if this happens, then a protest outside the council house happens at the set time, regardless of shennanigans CCC pull with the meeting itself to try and stop people turning up.

tbh this is what I'd focus on. Their bid can be damaged, if they don't include CCFC and are shown not to include CCFC.

Therefore it's in their interests to include CCFC, if this is shown...

Maybe our own version. A city of football. A mass football match outside the council house blocking the roads should attract a bit on interest.

Questions about Academies

1) what is the gross CCFC spend on the academy (ie before the grant)
2) how many Cat 2 academies are there in L1 and L2
3) what is the expected spend on a Cat 3 academy and what grant do you get
4) is there another way to channel talent in to the 1st team? or to develop saleable assets?

You do wonder whether point 4 is already being considered i.e. the signings of people like Jones and the lads from the Strachan FF

Think we're getting a bit sidetracked here. We put in £500K a year and get the same in a grant. I suspect the amount it generates far outweighs the amount it costs. Its one of the few bright spots for the club and something we should desperately be looking to preserve.

Need to pick a few dates with only one being the actual.
Can't move all their meetings they read these sites so all needs to be done by word of mouth and MPs.
Don't need loads just enough to stand out.

Probably help if the actually told the club what was on offer
Is the offer to use the new indoor facility at a reasonable commercial rate? How does it compare to the existing costs faced by the Academy?

Actually given some of the choices that might have to be made should we lose access to the Alan Higgs Centre or indeed have reduced access the questions are very relevant if you think about it long enough.

Other clubs have taken different approaches to talent development that do not include an Academy Cat 2 and succeed

Looking at some of the other things done by the club then you would have to conclude that their focus, despite the rhetoric, is actually on cutting costs. The Academy is a net cost. Yes they have sold some players but is an Academy the only way of getting sale value? or could young players be picked up from other clubs by offering a better level and progression?

The Academy also has cost implications when looking for a new ground set up.

Just saying ....... there are other options and rightly CA does seem to consider all options

Best thing to do is cut all ties with wasps, they want to destroy club and they will bide there time and curry favour with the fans until club is gone because after all each and everyone of us is a potential www.coventrywasps.com. Fan, fuck them.

Think you have it spot on here... having a floodlight pitch and an indoor area is no guarantee of any talent coming through. Its the environment and coaching that counts.

If you don't have a floodlit area or an indoor pitch you can't coach for a large part of the season, given most sessions take place in the evening in the winter months.

Producing good players is about good coaching but more importantly the amount of touches and coaching the kids revieve. If you don't have access to the facilities you can't produce good players on a consistent basis

No.... the point i am making is that is having a cat 2 academy requires you meet a predetermined set of prescribed criteria which costs £ . Cat 3 is more relaxed and gives the club more choices on how they spend their money. It does not meant that don't have to have access to a floodlight pitch or indoor area,. You choose when you want when you want it..

They need to cut the budget this is a diversion

Cat 3 makes it harder to recruit, it also entails less coaching time and you're not competing against good quality academy and players, lowers the amount of compensatio

Some interesting points from Huddlesfield on it

http://mobile.htafc.com//news/article/academy-news-eppp-category-2-759941.aspx

Some more info here.

For example

11 year old cat 2: 260 hours coaching per annum v 150 coaching hours a week (cat 3)

15/16 year old: 624 hours coaching (cat 2) vs 312 coaching hours (cat 3)

By the time a player gets to 17 a ccat 2 academy player will have significantly more coaching hours and therefore more likely to have better technique, etc so more consistently produce decent youngsters.
https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&s...ggjMAM&usg=AFQjCNFrtQlnt-Cis3WpM3F3qZMyAU_lKw

10 players from the academy made first team appearances this season, we've sold £8m worth of academy players in tbr last 5 years, it more than pays for itself in sales and savings in wage bill.

Things like coaching time aren't an issue as such as the requirements are minimum, there's nothing to stop the club putting in the same amount of coaching hours into the players as they do now to meet cat 2 status.

Thats the point he's making, all the requirements are minimum so there's nothing to stop us going above the minimum and running the academy to the standard we do now (the only difference would be limited access to indoor pitch stops us actually getting academy 2 status)

The major point he actually misses is that you are expecting the club to deliver the same quality of service on £500k less funds as we lose that without cat 2.
