Looking forward to this playing out now. He’s gonna have to take it to the next level. Wonder when he’ll order a code red

Be interesting if Biden lasts the 4 years,Maybe a thread on that?
Also if we go to the back of the trade queue because of brexit?

Why wouldn’t he? Trump did and he was far closer to death/senility’s door.

I do think Biden would struggle in 4 years time against a fresh republican/mini trump. I think the Democrats would be best served if Biden stood aside then and let Harris have a go.

I'm feeling pretty smug about my election night predictions which some of our more trumpian posters scoffed at

I think part of the republican party wants to move on from the Trumps.

Remember people like the LincolnProject were Republicans campaigning for Biden.

The primary system doesn't really give them much option though and for some reason a significant number of people love him.

Maybe. Though the republicans have lost what now 7 of the last 8 popular votes and even then only thanks to 9/11 during their first term. Lose the Trumpism and they’re even further behind.

Not seeing too much about what a “disaster candidate” Joe Biden is anymore. Certain people gone very quiet all of a sudden.

Seems like the polling industry lives to fight another day too.

Of course he’s a disaster candidate. He’s up against the most reviled and divisive president in memory and has a pandemic economic slump and race riots effectively in his favour.

He’s won by far less in percentage terms overall than predicted and by the smallest of margins in swing states.

He’s also a disaster candidate as he has no vision and is considered a racist even by his Vice President

Better or worse, a lot of that's personality.

The frightening effort would be if Pence got a tip at the top job! Mind you, until his meltdown the past couple of days, it was easy to point out Trump's moderate compared to his VP.

Nah, he'll be gone, either retired or deceased.

Watch out for 2036, when Davros Trump takes his stab at getting his second term.

The fact is if they’d had an Obama type candidate this would have been settled on the night rather than have to drag out with tiny margins of victory in the last few states. It should have been a McCain Obama type of showdown instead of this slug fest

One could argue the person who had pulled in more votes than any candidate in history is at least average. In fact one has and one can’t be arsed to argue it again.

Isn't the more votes thing linked to the fact there's more people to vote.

That and postal ballots probably (I think this is the first where anyone can do mail in ballots?).

Still doesn’t change the fact that more people voted. The last election was only 4 years ago, there’s 5 million more people but they won’t all be voting age or eligible to vote.
