He has spent his time filing bogus lawsuits against the press to extort money from them if they say things he doesn’t like. This is exactly what I’m talking about, someone can be authoritarian without being fascist. Trump has upheld the constitution so far and is not a fascist. Any insistence that he is looks ridiculous when he’s governed for 5 years now.

The question you really want to ask yourself, is whether it's unfair of the BBC to portray Trump as someone who tried to overturn the results of a free and fair election?

For me Trump comfortably meets the requirements to be described as a fascist. Uber nationalist economic and social policies, intimidation of the press, election interference, denial of the right to due process, declaring that only he can decide what the law is, intimidation of the judiciary and so on and so on. He’s a disgrace to his office and should be in prison.
