Biden expects to win all but Georgia which they think is a toss up and North Carolina which may lean very slightly trump.

Pennsylvania still has about a million and a half ballots to count so that isn't going to be today

How do you work that out. It’s the highest turnout in something like a hundred years and he’s walking the popular vote.

Tony just said he had a huge turnout and that’s entirely down to him and not the opponent?

People need to chill the fuck out a bit.

I don't know what you mean.

I am currently on bidentalk.us in a political policy thread discussing whether Biamou would start tonight.

People staying up all night for the results, people on social media going OTT with praying icons. Fucking hell, give it a rest.

Trump genuinely needs to accept the result and not go down the route he's trying to pursue... Just come out, congratulate Biden and get on with your life after January

Odd as not a single political commentator agrees with you and says the polls were a complete disaster - perhaps you can provide a link to support this argument? Or perhaps not - did not the polls predict a win for Biden in Florida and Trump actually increased his vote share?

I mean, 538 and pretty much every political outlet was predicting this scenario, it's not a controversial argument 2020 Election Forecast

The polls have definitely undershot Trump's vote share again, but Biden not managing to win true swing states like FL and NC doesn't negate the fact that the overall result they predicted seems to be coming true. It's possible he even outperforms Trump's 2016 result at this stage.

If you haven't been paying attention beforehand then I can see why you got thrown by the early results in FL, NC etc (the betting markets certainly were) but to me this is just the blue shift that everyone had been talking about. No need to call a taxi for Biden until full time...

No there is no doubt in my mind that Biden is not popular, there are many people on social media saying they only voted for him because they have to remove trump.
Alot of liberals are disgusted with themselves for voting for Biden... But the goal has been achieved.

If Obama ran against trump last night, it would have been a true landslide... For Obama... It wouldn't have been close like this

By no means a great candidate but they've clearly tried to play it safe by putting up an established figure who isn't too left. While there's an argument they've made the mistake of 2016 again anyone remotely leftist would be cast as a communist.

Polls now and again are badly out. 1948's a fine example, Truman spent some time waving the Truman loses newspaper headline around, after he... won.

It was the BBC article I linked... pages back, before this exploded said about how Trump's campaign was excellent about gathering people in who weren't registered, and making sure they were registered to vote for him! They wouldn't be included, for a start, in any earlier polls.

Anyway, who's next for President? Tom Cruise? Actually, it'll be him v Elon Musk in the next campaign, won't it...

Bonkers, utterly bonkers.

You’re missing a lot context. Biden is winning by nearly 2-3 million votes. The gap between Democrats and Republicans in California is nearly 4 million.

The democrats dominate in California and New York. Two of the most populous states in the US - which skews the ‘popular vote’ to the Democrats.

This used to be balanced out a bit by Texas, but a lot of people in the US have migrated to states like Arizona and Texas.

Realistically, a good Democratic nominee would do a lot better than Biden is. There’s a good chance Texas will flip to the Dems in the next few elections.

I dont think she would run nor would I like her too, I'm just using it as an example that Biden (if truly popular) would have walked the election and I think even Michelle Obama would have .. The fact trump was still an option to so many people is more damming on Biden than anything else

They don't have a Royal Family, so they can impersonate a Democratic alternative.

Maybe Dee Snider fancies a tip at the White House.

They really don’t. If you were capable of having a proper discussion you’d understand that. You make one false/nonsense/fag paper thinking claim. I point out the factual numbers to you which of course dismisses your falsehood out of hand. Your response is to continue talking bollocks with false claims.

Don’t disagree with you at all. But the post I was replying to was also missing context so it’s only natural my reply follows the same path.
