Trump’s proposal to steal trillions and hand it to the mega rich and big business just passed in the House. Tellingly, they have timed the worst features of the bill to kick in for 2028 so that any Democrat elected next can be blamed for the suffering caused by the legislation.

Yet they still call universal healthcare a ‘radical’ policy.

Call people communists for proposing free bus travel, don't call people fascists for conducting election interference, press intimidation, suppressing the right to protest, ignoring the right to due process and eliminating the right of the judiciary to challenge the government.

Good point. The polling shows it's pretty unpopular

https://www.axios.com/2025/07/01/trump-big-beautiful-bill-polling

Meanwhile, all he had to do was offer some signed hats to get people to drop their opposition

Trump Signed Merch to Reward Big Beautiful Bill Holdouts

The president showered Republicans at the White House with gifts and attention as his bill neared ratification.

Not a govt bill I don’t think. Was a free vote on a backbencher bill wasn’t it? It’s been a cross party aim for years so pretty much the opposite of the BBB.

Can you imagine the security nightmare that would be?

So Musk is going to throw his toys out of the pram. He throws 275 million at selected campaigns the 2026 election (like he did the 2024) and he could do enough damage to switch both houses.

Fifty years ago when I was a student a pint of beer in the pub was under 20p a pint of milk was 4p and potatoes were 3p a pound, what are they now £4.50, £1 and £1 respectively, so a pound is worth around 20 times less.

When I left school 51 years ago I went straight on the dole and got £7 a week which was approximately enough to buy 40 pints. 40 pints now at £4.50 is £180. Jobseeker’s Allowance is up to £72.90 for U24 year olds

Trump threatens Brazil with 50% tariff over Bolsonaro trial

Trump accused Brazil of "attacks" on US tech companies and conducting a "witch hunt" against its former president Jair Bolsonaro.

Peak scumbag level unlocked. Using tariffs to try and get his mate off the hook. No end to how low he'll go.

February: ‘The Epstein client list is on my desk to review’

July: ‘There is no client list and he definitely did kill himself.’

‘Didn’t you say before that the client list was on your desk?’

‘I meant the files. Yeah, the files’

‘Can I just interject and ask why is anyone still asking questions about my former best friend I mean this huge creep?’
