President Donald Trump has signed full pardons for imprisoned reality show couple Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were sentenced to lengthy prison terms in 2022 for a conspiracy to defraud banks out of more than $30 million, according to a White House official.

In addition to the bank fraud convictions, they were also found guilty of several tax crimes, including attempting to defraud the Internal Revenue Service.

Is there really any justification for this? Beyond ‘Biden also pardoned people’?

The White House has begun offboarding Musk, sure its a coincidence that a couple of days ago he criticised Trumps budget.

And Trump's tariffs have been blocked as he doesn't have the authority to implement without going through due process.

All going well.

Wonder how long it'll be before he brings out his go-to paedophilia attack.

After all, he does have Epstein links.

from their initial response I can see this as the point at which they try the 'national emergency' bullsh*t to get around the courts, congress etc.

Might be the tipping point for their dictatorship lite experiment. DOGE is basically done and didn't do a whole lot. Feels like a big moment.

A country that for years has insisted that everyone needs to be armed to the teeth ready to rise up against a tyrannical government. Can't foresee any problems here

You have to admit that it’s very, very funny that @The Philosopher and other big brains are heralding the genius of Brexit in ensuring our freedom from Trump’s tariffs, and for Starmer to go ahead and lock in new trade terms, only for an American court to go ahead and declare the whole tariff regime illegal just a few days later.

Seeing some suggestions that RFK Jrs 'Make America Healthy Again' report has been written by ChatGPT. It cites reports that don't exist and if you query ChatGPT on similar subjects you get the same non-existent sources.

Trump tariffs can stay in place for now, appeals court rules

The president's signature import taxes win a legal reprieve, as the White House rails against "activist judges".
www.bbc.co.uk

US President Donald Trump can keep collecting import taxes for now, an appeals court has said, a day after a trade ruling found the bulk of his global tariffs to be illegal.

In its appeal, the Trump administration said the decision issued by the trade court a day earlier had improperly second-guessed the president and threatened to unravel months of hard-fought trade negotiations.

"The political branches, not courts, make foreign policy and chart economic policy," it said in the filing.

Shortly before Thursday's tariff reprieve from the appeals court, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt told a press briefing: "America cannot function if President Trump, or any other president, for that matter, has their sensitive diplomatic or trade negotiations railroaded by activist judges."

He really thinks he’s a king. I see he’s suing for mental anguish because Kamala Harris was interviewed on TV and he doesn’t like it. Such a massive fanny. Imagine idolising him as a young lad, how bad your life must have gone.

What I do admit, is that there are people out there who macaroni their pants at the a ruling of an obscure court. These people have zero clue about how the court system in the US operates, economics, or (judging by their posts) anything at all really.

The US International Trade Court appears to be a lower court dealing in civil law, appeals against it's judgements can be made to one of the Federal Circuit Courts which are themselves subject to the US Supreme Court.

The Federal Circuits are regional, for instance the 9th circuit covers the West coast states and the 4th circuit covers Virginia and the Carolinas.

It's great, we all knew it was only a matter of time. Nothing Musk can do can redeem him but it's going to be hilarious that MAGA will now have to hate Musk.

It will be interesting who backs down, hopefully it's a long and messy divorce.

Trump will just blame this all on Congress if he needs to. It’s not the first time Musk has moaned about Republicans in Congress.
