Will it be American workers? I can't imagine they'll be queuing up to be sent to Ukraine and carry out dangerous work for a low wage. Is it not more likely to be Ukrainian workers?

From 2016 onwards, on the Republican side John Kasich, on the Democrat side Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

Both. These kind of investment deals get US companies involved in mining and more often than not, bring over US workers.

A lot Chinese firms engaged in mining and infrastructure projects bring their own workforces all over the globe and most notably in Africa, e.g. Ghana. The workers get paid and bring the money back to their home country too.

These kind of practices have been described as ‘neocolonial’. It’s similar (albeit far more indirect) to how European countries would expand their colonial outposts via trading companies (East India and so on) in the Age of Empires.

There’s a reason they all lost, they weren’t good candidates.

Well, Sanders was arguably a victim of a corrupt Democrat primary process.

He was in 2016. In 2020 he was the front runner until the last minute withdrawal of multiple candidates who all then endorsed Biden. He remains a very popular politician campaigning for things most of the US support.

One of the very few politicians currently calling out the slide towards authoritarianism that’s happening over there too.

Bernie is too old now, 5 years older than Trump. I bet he never retires, like Mitch McConnell who froze while giving a press conference.

I was on holiday with a few people from the US, one guy believed they should enforce age limits on their politicians.

His high point was 2016, ironically around the time he was interviewed on the Joe Rogan podcast.

Trump and Sanders were popular figures for the same reasons, they were both in favour of radical changes. The difference is, Trump actually conquered the Republican Party two times.

I do wonder if Trump would’ve won the primaries had he not faced his indictments. That certainly galvanised his own supporters as well as the Republican Party as a whole. I guess we’ll never know.

I’m surprised McConnell has only just announced he’ll retire at the end of his term.

Wasn’t there a Republican congresswoman who was elected last year and they were found to be living in a nursing home. There’s plenty more examples on both sides of the aisle.

A big problem the Democrats party has at the minute is that a lot of their congressional/senate leadership are ancient.

He certainly is now, and I’m definitely not suggesting he run again-he’s retiring at the end of his current term.

But had he been elected back in 2016, the country would be in a far better place. If you disagree with giving Americans healthcare then fine, but I’d like to see the argument against it.

More supposition you and you clearly don't understand one of the most important issues.

There are enormous conflicts of interest in the US health system, Doctors are incentivised to medicate and paid excessive amounts of money to prescribe and treat with incredibly expensive drugs. There is no money in keeping people healthy.

US - Economy /Europe’s historical rule and it becoming sidelined.

G7 vs China/ Brics. and their overtaking us.

Europe is more irrelevant and pressures on the economy.

US’s turn on allies is a sign of desperation. Sinking ship/ everything thrown overboard.

Is it how measured he is and how diplomatic?
Is it how he is balanced and seeking peace by talking to both sides of the conflict like he is with Russia and ukraine or is it the simple nature of the language you like?
What’s he gonna do?
bomb them to the Stone Age? Already done
Attack and kill their leaders? Already done
Bomb all their hospitals? Already done

Oh stop waffling shite regarding Ukraine, I said he’s wrong for the Ukraine stuff, he’s threw zelensky under the bus which is sad to see

He’s not wrong for wanting to destroy the terrorist organisation Hamas though, it will be targeted attacks not attacks on civilians

Find it strange how you never mention about wanting the hostages freed

They should never have been taken in the first place but I understand why they have been

A question for you and your fuckwit mates in the White House, how many children are in Israeli jails who haven’t been charged with a crime?

Palestinian children in Israeli military detention report increasingly violent conditions

Rising numbers of Palestinian children detained without charge in the Israel military system since 7 October have reported that they are facing violence and abuse.
www.savethechildren.org.uk

Where’s your and trumps calling for Israel to return these children? And to not terrorise them with violence

All I ask is for balance

What Hamas did was off the wall violent and sickening and inhuman and wrong and all hostages need returning

What Israel have done in their treatment of Palestinians in West Bank and Gaza is bloody awful and whilst there is no excuse for what Hamas did the whole area is a fucked up mess

One civilian is too many, no innocent person should be killed.

Wanting a terrorist organisation destroyed that is responsible for a massacre and holding people hostage also isn’t wrong.

Wanting to defeat Hamas is fine, nobody objects to that. Killing tens of thousands of civilians as Israel has done, destroying homes, hospitals and schools, killing aid workers and essentially carrying out ethnic cleansing of the region, is despicable. Benjamin Netanyahu is a wanted war criminal for what his regime has done there.

It is very telling that the only countries Trump wants to keep giving money to are Israel and Saudi Arabia.

If Israel thought what they were doing was in any way justifiable or legal, they wouldn't have prevented independent journalists from entering Gaza.

That Trump supports them in an ongoing genocide is entirely understandable. As we've clearly seen, he's on the side of the bully rather than the victim. Easier, and more profitable.

Nobody is saying that it’s right how Israel have reacted, Netanyahu is a war criminal.

Do you think it’s right that Hamas is destroyed and the hostages should be returned? Are you against trump wanting Hamas to be destroyed then? If you are against Hamas being destroyed then that’s very odd

He wants to evict all the Palestinians and in his own words, ‘take’ Gaza. That is far beyond an operation to defeat Hamas.

So you don’t think Hamas are wrong then? You ‘understand why they have been’ in regards to the hostages being taken on October the 7th. Disgraceful comment that is

I’ve called out Isreal and Netanyahu. They have committed war crimes and need to face the punishment for it.

The fact you are so defensive over Hamas is very worrying
