I see Starmer is now in the US.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if the planned meeting is going to be led by Musk and the Tate brothers

A million centrist delusions of Kier Starmer as the prime minister in Love Actually are shattered

Trump administration 'very pleased' about increase in UK defence spending, official says

Reuters has posted some snaps from a briefing given by an official in the Trump administration.

None of this is very new, but the news that the White House is “very pleased” about the increase in UK defence spending (as opposed to just being “pleased” with the commitment about troops for Ukraine) is noteworthy. It is a bit stronger than the comment from Pete Hegseth, the US defence secretary, welcoming the budget uplift on Tuesday.

Definitely don't recall seeing anything of that description no. I'm talking about the weird AI generated trip into Trump's horrendous ego, that one. The one mocking up ethnic cleansing as a real estate masterstroke.

Crazy but inevitable. Can't wait for the nationwide demonstrations and the giant inflatable baby Trump's in nappies to emerge. Starmer and Charlie boy are not thinking this through.

what the fuck did you expect him to do? go to washington and call him a c**t?

He has always said country over party and that was exactly what the UK needed at this time.

Avoided tariffs and got him to row back on his Zelensky is a dictator comment.

Handing him the letter from the King although cringey as fuck is the exact kind of thing that Trump laps up (because he's a man child).

Master stroke from Brexit fan Trump.
Says he'll work on a trade deal for UK but threatens EU countries with a 25% tariffs.

That's a dilemma for Europhile Starmer and potentially massive problems for Germany and France manufacturing.

Don't think there's any doubt who was pulling the strings yesterday in Washington.
