For balance: (left leaning) CNN clip with right leaning commentator summing things up.

“There are 1.3 to 1.6 million people who have already (UNDER THE DEMOCRATS) received their deportation orders”.

“Obama deported more than most”.

Obama deported 5 million. FIVE MILLION.

Discuss….

Well, firstly Trump has literally said he's going to carry out the biggest mass deportation in US history.

And as for Obama's numbers, he mostly targeted people at the border and of those living in the US he targeted criminals.

That's very different to Trump's policy of rounding everyone up with the military.

Make your mind up then. Are Democrats terrible at handling immigration or not?

They do it well then are ashamed of it and tell no one. Like Labour having the biggest deportation flights since the election and no one knowing.

Was watching a doc on immigration recently and one of the takeaways for me was that Labour are far better at handing immigration that the Conservatives. There was some footage of Gordon Brown as PM being accused of having polices similar to the BNP and NF!

Those who bang on about immigration all the time were fairly open about the fact they weren't really bothered about it but just used it to get the electorate to back them. Even Farage was open about the fact he started highlighting migration as a means to getting what he actually wanted, the UK out of the EU, rather than because of any actual concerns about migrations.

Lots of talking heads from government saying the Conservatives were all talking about getting the net figure down to 100K in public but in private were all requesting exemptions for their own department as they'd be fucked otherwise.

The real Brexit lie was that you could reduce immigration and not just swap the countries you’re pulling from from European to African and Asian. Though lie is a bit strong as some Brexit proponents were very open that was the plan. Like Trump people seemed to take what they wanted and ignore what they didn’t though.

Immigration in a nutshell.

The UK and other western countries needs net migration to avoid societal collapse.

Birthrate of about 1.5 children per woman means 1.5 children per 2 adults.

So, for every 20 say, 33 year olds there are 15 children.
Extend that = 20 age 66 year olds =15 age 33 year olds = about 10 newborns.

Rough figures, for every 20 age 66 year olds leaving the working pool, there are about 12 age 20 year olds joining. The problem is obvious. For years this issue was masked by importing 20 odd year olds from Poland and elsewhere.

I used to argue that this was human resource piracy whilst we stole talent educated at another nation’s expense. Pre Brexit immigration rules were unfair to less wealthy EU nations since their societies were paying to educate youth who would become contributors to another nation.

Theoretically we now have equal opportunity immigration in the UK, although a blind eye has been turned to immigration from non-EU European countries such as Albania. I’m sure you’ve all deduced that without me pointing it out. The theory is that they will assimilate within a generation.

Turning back to the USA:

The USA needs immigration to combat the declining birth rate and worker pool.

However, the USA is still a desirable nation to live in for many and people should not just jump the queue at the expense of those following the rules.

Anyone who argues that people jumping the queue should be let off are misguided.

I’m not on about refugees.

After the election result, there was clear mood music from all sides of an imminent de-escalation of hostilities in Ukraine pending Trump brokering peace talks.

The Democrats have now heightened tensions completely unnecessarily.

There is no plausible justification for this and the Democrats and anyone that supports them should be ashamed.

Let’s see what war criminal Netanyahu gets up to with his best mate in the White House before you start getting carried away with Ukraine ‘losing its pocket money’.

I’m worried about you.

Me: needless raising of tension on Ukraine will lead to more people dying. (Which I, and anyone reasonable would say is important)

You: wibble wibble “pocket money”, “ifs and buts in the future”, “his best mate (amusing given the historic rift between the two)”

Here’s a lefty article about Trump and his “best mate”

With Trump, Netanyahu’s got his work cut out for him

“Trump’s not going to give him a blank check.”

There is only one person responsible for high tensions and literally hundreds of thousands of deaths in Ukraine.

It ain't Biden.

The point is Biden and his party don't care as it suits their agenda - Ukraine is accepted collateral damage from him and his party.

Punches person in the face, person goes to punch back. TP; “Hey let’s not needlessly raise tensions here! Just take your beating you don’t want to make things worse”

Out of interest. If there any propaganda you don’t swallow hook line and sinker or is it credulity all the way down?

Oh man, this is hardly punching people in the face, this is killing human beings.

At present, there is a war between Russia and proxy allies and NATO / Ukraine.

This could escalate. Why?

Peace has a chance of being negotiated. The sense was to hold fire until the new de-facto head of NATO comes in (Trump). If this stops one loss of life then that’s good, right? If no peace can be found then it would be at least have been good to give it go.

The propaganda we get in the UK is Putin = Hitler, Zelenskyy = saint. In Russia they got Azov = Nazis, Zelenskyy = NATO planted usurper comedian. In the UK we get “if we don’t stop Putin then he’ll invade Poland”. In Russia they get “NATO are lining up on our border and the ethnic Russians in the Donbas are being persecuted”.

So, no, I don’t swallow propaganda down. I’m sure the truth is somewhere between the two positions above.

Maybe, just maybe, the solution would have been to take a break and let the people of the occupied area have some say with neutral oversight.

Ballots not battles is always preferable, this is from someone who is big enough to accept losing at the ballot box.

Trump did pledge to pardon those convicted for crimes in the Capitol insurrection, so I assume any allies who need pardoning of various crimes will get it.
