$5 for a dozen normal eggs up 3 fold.

I am not saying the economy is not doing well for the elites, but that was not who switched.

Immigration , well what happened to all those Refugee Welcome signs in progressive areas, ok much less likely to be an issue for them but seems they are not taking any chances.

Average cost for a dozen eggs is $3.

Only Congress can approve such an amendment and it would have to be a two thirds majority in both houses.

Of course the 22nd amendment was required following FDR going against long established precedent.

Trump isn’t the first President to talk about amending it, Reagan and Clinton, off the top of my head.

Maybe, but if necessary he'd try and change that required majority. The houses and the courts are more likely to side with him and themselves could use their majority to chip away at other things to enable it further down the line.

And if they don't he'll call them traitors and set his fanbase on them. Many would be too scared to say no. I expect he'll rile his base saying "you want me to stay but they won't let me, they're enemies of democracy so tell them how you feel" and get them protesting like the Capitol.

One thing you have to say about trump is he defiantly comes off as someone who carefully studies all the data and asses the impact before making a decision

Come on, if Trump and his echo chamber want to do it they will do it. As we keep getting told Trump has everything sewn up now and can pretty much do what he wants. US officials will be making those sort of suggestions to others to avoid spooking the markets. They have no idea what Trump will or won't do.

He's been making promises about all sorts of crazy stuff, seemingly off the cuff, on the campaign trail. Nobody has a clue what he will actually implement.

Im sure our influence will persuade everyone including the absentees,

So lets just sleepwalk into a catastrophe because others won't be going.

You do understand the concept of leadership don't you?

Its not leadership when the real leaders are staying at home. Still I am sure a few nice lunches are to be had.

Whatever the UK does will have no discernible impact if the absentees carry on regardless, or in USA case increase fossil fuel production and use under Trump.

And doing what others are doing is going to change that?

I'm not expecting everyone else to just say 'oh, they're doing it so we'd better do it too'. I'm saying we should do what is right and lead by example, not just say "well everyone is doing that so we should too".

Again, so we should not do what is right just because others are doing it.

If you're at the football and someone starts singing a racist song, do you do nothing, tell them to stop or join in?

Why are you wetting your knickers about Trump winning? Absokutely nothing to do with economics for you really though. It's the 'woke' thing again and your sadistic love of hatred and intolerance based on ignorant bigotry. What a negative outlook on life you take.

I understand NESO issued a report saying that UK net zero was doable but very arduous. We will have to accept that demand will need to be controlled though. Power cuts at peak times.

China, India and the USA will be pissing themselves laughing,

We need to build nuclear and wind and insist on solar and battery on new builds. We shouldn’t be trying to limit usage.

I see they are insisting on no boilers in new builds. Builders worried about scale up needed for air source heat pumps And that it may interfere with the need to build 300,000 houses per year to keep to Labours target. A bit of a step change from the current 35,000 heat pumps being produced per year. Government seem more keen on banning current technologies rather than proscribing new ones.

Wind has produced very little first two weeks of November, solar next to nothing.

That’s what the nuclear is for. Heating needs to be electrified same as cooking ultimately.

Some rumours he could fire as many as 75% of American civil servants. I would assume the only departments they’d want to keep open would be the military, immigration and perhaps some tax collection stuff.

Surely the system would collapse if you got rid of 75% of civil servants. Saying that look what he did when he took over twitter and how that has rapidly deteriorated as a result

Trump's not even taken over yet and there's already rumblings of discontent from Rep voters that he's not going to follow through on his promises. Very predictable as he, along with his running mates, were just saying what they thought whoever was in the room wanted to hear. Already walking back on banning vaccines and Trump promised to pardon anyone for guilty of crimes related to January 6th which possibly isn't as easy as he thinks.

Looks like he's going to be off the hook with his legal troubles though. The general consensus is now it would cause too much of a constitution problem if he was sentenced so that will be delayed until his term has finished

People only seem to look at musk through the lense of Twitter/X and his political views which is a bit short sighted. I think looking at his CV they’d be lucky to get him involved….

Runs a company that made EVs mainstream and as far as I’m aware still the only car company that can make them profitably (also made their IP open source). Also not far off self driving vehicles

Runs a company that has rolled out satellite internet to parts of the world where there is no chance of traditional WiFi/broadband

Started a company that is ahead of most/all nation states when it comes to space travel and is delivering reusable rockets which produces far more efficient/cost effective space exploration/travel

Involved in starting a company (neuralink) that is developing ways to help give quadriplegics the ability to control devices through their thoughts and can possible help to restore some blind people’s eyesight

Runs a company that has rolled out large scale battery storage units (megapack) that are driving renewable energy

Big ego, undoubtedly, said some stuff he shouldn’t have, yep but shouldn’t governments be picking the brains of people like musk ? Have people not seen the state of politicians these days ?!

ps I agree if 75% of civil servants are sacked the state would collapse. Can’t see that happening though
