It’s a point not shared by the people in his State.

Are you superior and more knowledgeable than them?

She's absolutely awful. There must be a huge well of candidates that are capable of beating Trump but they keep dredging up turds.
Was a Starmer type enough maybe? I'm thinking Starmer but with a bit more humour and slightly cringey American charm.

Also, Allan Lichtman’s 13 keys he used to predict Harris winning went down in flames. His career is also finished.

From the Economist - notorious left wing rag

“Some comeback stories are the stuff of political legend. Donald Trump, a convicted felon who sought to subvert the 2020 presidential election, is poised to return to the White House. He will be the oldest man ever to be elected president in America.”

Whatever anyone concerns about immigration, elites, inflation etc I don’t know how any reasonable person can get around the points above. It’s like choosing Rose West as a babysitter because you’re annoyed people who have done an NVQ in childcare.

'The Economist' is another publication that jumped on the bandwagon and failed to be neutral. I actually know someone that works there and he would fit in very well on this forum. They endorsed Harris along with a 'who should I vote for quiz' which overwhelmingly only ever gave one answer. Hardly something I would be bragging about as a neutral source. In fact, they are a great case study for the sneering you say doesn't exist.

The trade war has to happen at some time, you simply can't have cheap foreign goods flooding into your markets at the cost of American jobs and business. While foreign markets remain hostile to American Imports.

This should of been addressed donkeys years ago, before the American economy went tits up.

Trump told Apple, if you want to sell iPhones and ipads in the USA, you have to build them in the USA. He told GM that if you want to sell cars in the USA you've got to build them in the USA.
GM was forced to cancell plans for a mega factory in Mexico, and Apple had to commit to transfer a percentage of its global manufacturing back to the US.

Remember when people were saying that a Labour win meant it was going to be a new world and were popping the bubbly?

Waking up tomorrow will be exactly the same for me regardless who wins in America.

How much of all of this is due to the internet and social media?

No they’re not neutral they’re pro business but they are one of the more neutral outfits. Most publications make an editorial endorsement.

Even if they were incredibly left leaning the points made in the quote I shared are literal facts. My point was I don’t know how people disregard them and still choose Trump.

The only good thing that comes out of this is that at least Democrats will concede without violence.

That was by no means a given if it went the other way, as we saw the last time, and as Trump had clearly primed the nutters for this time. That's not an echo chamber view, btw, unless you're living in denial of the facts.

The big winners here are the authoritarian strong men; Putin, Kim, Netanyahu, and the like, and the losers are the people who suffer as the result of their policies.

It's not likely to be great for the planet either, I'm afraid. Coal, oil, fracking, and climate change denial are all back with a bang now.

Part of me is beyond caring. I worry for my kids and their future, but I'll be gone before the worst of it, should it come to that.

The best solution is probably to stop worrying about it, ignore the science and the news, and just take the "Who gives a fuck about anyone else", line. It seems to be how it works in general these days.

His law mandated them for all menstruating students, so that could include biologically female students identifying as male and so using male toilets.

Does the data actually back that up though? Not looked in depth but the few things I have seen show that most metrics have improved under Biden.

If that's not correct then fair enough but if it’s true how do you get around the issue of people voting based on vibes rather than facts?

This is the difference between the wider economy and people’s own personal economy. Great gdp data etc, driven by significant government spending and tech but many people have been feeling poorer due to inflation, especially of essentials like petrol, food etc

Add to that a pretty open border policy and rightly or wrongly disgruntled people will put two and two together.

I just see the democrats and the further liberal left as just not listening and having an almost arrogant approach to the election, which is why you get someone who is unelectable in my eyes, winning comfortably*.

*yes musk, rogan etc have helped Trump but when you look at difference in ad sending and the leaning of a lot of the main stream media, the democrats need to be looking closer at home as to why they lost

I think once the voting in Loudon, Virginia came through where typically white middle class was moving away from Harris then it was over for her so its not one group of individuals, the majority in voting have chosen to believe Trump, whether we do or not doesn't count but we have to recognise that it isn't just a Latino vote, or a white middle class etc
Harris never presented a convincing argument across many topics to secure the vote

Perhaps you get the laughing emoji for continuously demonstrating that you don't live in the real world, but rather in a bubble. There are some good people on here with different opinions, and then there are some stuck in complete echo-chambers like you which are incapable of debate.

Your post is overdramatic nonsense as it usually is on the politics threads, and once again the person who is calling other people names is one that sings from the 'I'm a compassionate person' hymn sheet. Not only has that mask has slipped again, but the insults being used are rather lacking some self-reflection.
