Well anything can happen in 3 months, agreed.
And Trump has got his own cognitive issues, just nowhere near as bad as Bidens, but there may be more focus on them now but if I had to call it I'd say Trump wins.

Trump Is bound to say something utterly ludicrous and ridiculous before now and the election for sure, but many over there still seem to lap it all up.

US global reputation/decline under Biden:

National debt of $35 trillion and out of control, +35% since 2020, no credible plan for management of debt resulting in downgrade of US credit rating in 2023.

Reduced global importance of USD, rise of BRICS and accelerating de-dollarisation.

Chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan debacle was a national humiliation and seen as confirmation of weak leadership.

Open southern border accelerating massive fentanyl epidemic est cost to economy > $1.5 trillion.

The 'de-dollarisation' has been happening for a long time and will continue to happen.
Ironically, Hilarys war in Libya, which she's quite rightly hated for, did a lot to slow down the process.
As for fentanyl, most of yhose bringing it in are US citizens.

Harris has a mountain to climb. Most who vote Trump won’t be lapping it up but sucking up their concerns to pick a Republican

It could be viewed as an opportunity I think ,3months of a fresh debate on the direction of America, out of interest Ernie what was the state of debt burden of the prior administration?

Oh good Lord.

You're supporting a proven liar, a racist, a convicted felon, and a sex pest. Based on what, that he dealt with North Korea? Stood up to Putin?

Trump got played by North Korea, and achieved the square root of fuck all there.

He's actually aligned himself with Putin, more than once, and he's the first President in living memory to say he wouldn't support NATO. Putin would be delighted to see Trump back in the White House.

So basically, Putin and Kim have run rings around the 'stable genius'. Him, and his dribbling acolytes are just a bit too thick to see it.

In the meantime, his supreme court appointed judges, have set women's rights back decades.

I'm intrigued by those with an uncritical support of Trump. Is it his stupidity, racism, or misogyny that draws you towards him the most?

I heard a bit of some US politics expert on the radio the other day and he was saying don’t necessarily be fooled by the national polling, it’s all about the swing states (as we know) and they’re obviously going to be close whoever the Democrats pick as candidate. Plenty to play for still.

I’d personally rather a proper process rather an anointment of Harris but not sure they’ll have the time to get someone new in and to then get their profile/messaging across to public before election. Shitshow from the democrats really

I do wonder if this changes the 'it will come down to 4 states' narrative.
You're right, it's a Democratic shitshow. Biden should have gone after the televised debate.

Said it before, but this will be the second time the Democrats have messed up a let Trump in.

Incredibly careless from a party with the ability to rig elections!

Be interesting to know how long ago senior people in the party knew Biden was done and whether they’ve been trying to get him to step down in recent months but he’s refused, or whether they genuinely believed he could limp along, win the election and Harris take over in a year or so

Prob too late to stop the animal from a 4 yr vengeance spree in the Oval office but his 100% record of losing the popular vote will continue.

Trump just needs to keep his head down and his mouth shut. The only way he can now lose is if he balls it up himself.

I think he refused and it's just been a process of persuading him to go.
He came out swinging in his next public performance but it was clear another episode of confusion was round the corner. The whole world could see it. When your in his position you just can't afford those sorts of public humiliations.

They could kill that easily, by bringing in a 'not allowed to put yourself forward after the age of 75,' then if anyone did get in, in their mid 70's, they could only run for one term.

This is correct but I'd go further.

One term only regardless of age and not just for presidents.

The US government is chock full of political dinosaurs that should have been put out to pasture decades ago. 40-50 year political dynasties and the corruption that comes with it need to be smashed.

Hmmm. Ignoring what he descended into now, the Trump presidency saw 200,000 manufacturing jobs lost whereas the Biden one saw 800,000 gained. Pretty significant given how much effort Trump went to in order to get a lot of those industrial states in 2016.

The 800,000 jobs claim isn't quite that simple. Most of those weren't new jobs created by Biden.

About 600,000 of those are jobs that were "recovered" in 2021/22 after the layoffs during Covid. That's still around 200,000 newly created jobs which isn't to be sniffed at - but it's certainly way less than the 800,000, or even 15 million claim that Biden made a few months ago.

Nice one for trying to have a proper debate.
This article, while critical of Biden doesn't dispute the 15 million figure though there are several caveats, one of which is recovered jobs as you mentioned.

Even at the lower end of this estimate, and as someone who is no fan of Biden, he created as many jobs as Trump lost. Purely on the economy he has done far better than his predecessor.
