Your carbon footprint owing to your demands for brekkie wekkie is an utter fucking disgrace.
I'll bet you wash it down with tea from Ceylon as well.

Big concern for me recently is offside flags. Where the fuck have they been?

At least 5 missed Saturday just gone.

I’m really not one for signalling my virtues, but good luck with your crosses and your poppies and all that woke virtue signalling stuff.

I think the triangular corner flags thing is a myth. But it was amusing to see how the discussion descended so quickly into flags generally. Just to add my twopennorth as someone who remembers the way the Union Jack was used to make black and Asian supporters feel unwelcome and anxious about coming to football games, I don't want us to go back there. I think the people who support the flag waving know it's divisive and don't care. They put their own needs to identify as proudly British/English above their consideration for more vulnerable communities. Just saying...

Yeah, this is where I'm at with it. Not sold on the 'we just love England' line when the flags were nowhere to be seen a few months ago.

Not these days. These days if you say you want British half way flags you get arrested and thrown in jail these days.

Pretty sure you can't classify the honouring of those who died in war as virtue signalling. Surely that's beyond this virtue bullshit and simply a show of common decency, respect and a nod in thanks for their sacrifices.

“Virtue signalling is the act of expressing opinions or stances that align with popular moral values, often through social media, with the intent of demonstrating one's good character”

- Virtue signalling - Wikipedia

“an attempt to show other people that you are a good person, for example by expressingopinions that will be acceptable to them, especially on social media”

- virtue signalling

See above. I think maybe you don’t understand what virtue signalling is, or rather you only like using the term to refer to the signalling of other people’s virtues and not your own. You hearing it is a pejorative belies the idiocy of its typical usage.

So people only honour the fallen because it's "popular"?

Nothing to do with the fact they laid down their lives to give you the freedom to talk absolute fucking bollocks on an Internet forum! Stop sniffing glue mate, try and hold on to your final braincell!

For me? I will continue wearing a poppy and adhering to a silence in their honour on the 11th of November. And if you want to call me a virtue signaller because of it, then so be it! I'd rather be a "poppy wearing signal vituer" than an absolute fucking tool like you!

I don’t have any issue with virtue signalling, you’re reading it as an insult, it wasn’t offered as one.

the definition doesn’t describe popularity as the motivation for signalling one’s virtues, but clearly wearing a poppy aligns with popular opinion, I don’t think that is up for debate, is it?

Social media has nothing, or very little, to do with the tradition of honouring the fallen by wearing a poppy. My point is simply that it's not virtue signalling and by your own definition, I'm right in highlighting that.
