by the numbers we have 4000-5000 season tickets. They have 18000.

They will be very successful this season. They also turned down a 500k bid for Hanson

Re the trialists I was surprised to hear it. As I thought TM said he didn't want any?
I am always dubious of trialists, as I wonder why they need to be on trial. Plus it hasn't really worked for us in the past. Then again if the likes of Joe Murphy is currently on trial thee days then who knows!

Yep, there was an article in CT last week which indicated he wasn't looking at triallists, but seems he's going to use the game tomorrow to get the steer on a few players according to this article from CCFC site -

===

"There is still work to be done. Looking to bring in and strengthen our forward options." - Tony Mowbray

The City boss has also confirmed a number of trialists will feature in the first pre-season game against Nuneaton...

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has stated the transfer window activity will continue beyond this week.

The Sky Blues boss has had a good week at Ryton training ground with Sam Ricketts, Romain Vincelot and Reda Johnson all signing for City.

City are currently preparing for their first pre-season game at Nuneaton Town tomorrow as preparations for the 2015/16 season continue.

Despite the flurry of activity this week, Mowbray has outlined the club are still in the hunt for attacking options.

The City boss said: "I'm happy with the work we've done this week. We've strengthened our options at the back and in midfield.

"There is still work to be done and we've got to focus now on getting our forward and attacking options in to add to the side.

"Hopefully, over the next few weeks, we'll be able to get a few more signings in and keep preparing for the season.

"I'm happy with where we are at but there is still work to be done before we're ready."

The Sky Blues will be playing two different XI's against Nuneaton Town in each half so the City boss has a good look at everyone.

Mowbray confirmed that a few trialists will also take to the pitch looking to impress the City coaching staff.

He added: "It's all about getting minutes on the pitch, being competitive and most importantly, staying injury free.

"I'm not concerned about the numbers as we've got some excellent young players in the squad but also a few trialists who will also play.

"We're going to play two teams so I can have a look at everyone but also make sure everyone gets the fitness they need from it.

"Even though it is a pre-season game, hopefully we can be competitive and give Nuneaton a game."

We have had some terrible signings from players that were on trial but hopefully TM and Mark Venus are better judges of players than the previous manager.

Have it on good authority that Bruno Cazarine will be getting 45 minutes on Saturday.

Mowbray took a punt on a certain Zoltan Gera on trial once...

I think the players TM has on trial will be of a certain standard than the ones Pressley and Thorn had.

In fairness he did not say he didn't want any. He said clubs get lots of requests to take players on trial. He said he would not be flooding the training ground with them, because it distracts you from looking at what you have actually got. He also pointed out he has had some success with trialists in the past.

The impression I got is trialists would only be here for serious consideration rather let's have a look at this one and this one and this one. He certainly didn't rule trialists out completely.

Yep we decreased our prices massively with no cup run revenue to make it up or any possibility of making it back through f an b sales.

Pmsl at people still moaning about our prices, lets all just admit it our support is pathetic.

The Portuguese guy was great and prompted the obvious "sign him up". It was funny when we came over by the touchline and people were shouting "What's yer name?!".

I know Mowbray is giving it the "what will he be like on a cold Tuesday in Bradford" and stuff, but he's worth a shot, I reckon. Can't remember the last time a triallist made such a good impression.

I remember a French winger playing against WBA at the Ricoh, he was class but no idea where he ended up. Think he might have played at Southend or somewhere before?

Oh his name was Francis Laurent he had spells at Northampton and Lincoln afterwards and now plays for a Belgium 4th division team. Not as good as I thought he would have turned out then.

Rueben Lameiras looked quite sharp, despite his size he was tackling well had very quick feet and passed the ball well ohh and he wasn't frightened to shoot either only thing I would level at him was sometimes he needed to be that little bit greedier instead of passing but I thought on the day he looked very good

Yeah, I think he was a bit nervous. Hopefully he will get a runout for another couple of games as if he is training with us he can only improve with confidence and knowing the other players.

Was good to see second half he was sat with Maddison and a couple of other young lads having a laugh and a joke!

Yes, did he actually play at game at the Ricoh under Adams and then mysteriously never signed.

I agree. All the "worries" about his build are bollocks too. Maddison is hardly Mr Muscle, is he? Stop making excuses Mowbray and sign him up!

He wore black boots too. He should be signed just for not wearing stupid coloured footwear.

He linked up well yesterday and definately worth another look.

Just be interesting how he would do in a more competitive game but certainly a tricky customer all left foot though

Think I remember it, his first contribution was a shot from the halfway line that nearly hit the corner flag

Yeah, true. However, none of them looked like they would do any good in a competitive game! I liked the look of Vincelot, he put himself about a bit. We need a striker, that much is obvious.

I hope he gets a chance here as I thought, as you said, a tricky player and we could do with a bit of flare.
