Hi all, I am a Wigan fan travelling to Ricoh for first time on Sat and was wondering the best (fastest) way to the railway station after the game. Didn't realise how far away it was until I booked my train which leaves before 6. Yes I know I am fool.

You will have your work cut out to get to the station for 6 I suggest taxi is the best hope there will be some ranked up at casino end of the ground but they will get jammed up. I suggest you go through the Tesco car park and there will be taxis on the shop rank by the buses, should cost about a tenner, don't let them rip you off !!

Don't bother pre-booking there will be plenty of Black cabs on these ranks, most taxis in Cov are cabs and private hire wouldn't get to you in time, go for black cabs on the rank where the buse stops are, suss it out before the game. The rank is at the side of Tesco and is the away end side of the ground. Was a cabbie until a couple of years ago

Didn't notice there are 6 of you most of our cabs seat only 5 there are a few 6 seater Metro cabs and some Mercs, but most are London black cabs. Unless you are lucky you will need two cabs.

I shouldn't worry too much about missing your train after the game as your team are red hot favourites to win.So you could be four up with ten minutes to go so you and your pals can leave early ? Hope not of course !

Yeah, you have just missed the station opening.

As long as you get straight out the ground after the final whistle, and get in one of the taxis behind tesco, you should make the station in time.

By the bookies yes, because to them they are a strong L1 team who should win the league and we are an average L1 team who will finish mid table. However, the Wigan fan on here said they'd be happy with consolidation this season because they have an inexperienced manger and could take ages to find a formula because there's 9-10 new players all in the starting line up. You can make yourself a nice bit of money on the opening day/weeks of the season betting because ultimately the bookies are just guessing early on and then the prices get shorter when the League table starts taking shape.
