Any ideas of where mogga will strengthen or will he just go with what we have got?

I'd love to see us get dominic samuel in I think he could get goals for us and Chris Burke aswell would give a bit of leadership in the middle

TM seemed to hint that there might be another arrival yet on CWR post match interview. Said basically that when the window closes we'll have a better idea of what players we have and how we're going to score goals and how to train for that. Basically we ain't going to be playing like we did last season when we had the pace of Murphy and Kent. We're starting again basically.

(edit) I basically said basically to much in that post

There might be one more arrival?

Sorry, but this squad is no where near good enough to compete at the top end of the league.

People thinking our season is starting in September need to reasses their expectations in my opinion.

Obviously goals win games and with this squad so far the future looks bleak.. lets hope our increasingly useless looking management team do something before we are consigned to a dogfight at the bottom of the table because even the fighting bit looks toothless

So weve gone from the squad needs another 5-6 players coming in to now possibly one.
Why do we need to wait until the window finishes to see what we have and where we need to recruit.

Dont make sense and its clear to everyone even before the season started what we need and where. A striker who can score, a strong cb and a rb. The squad isnt good enough at this time and the table doesnt lie even after just five games.
Two goals in five league games is a religation team.
Anyone got the feeling tm has lost out either due to his budget or him thinking we could wait and get better quality but our wage budget meant them going els where and we are now scraping the barrel
The biggi signing sums this up for me. If he was a genuine target for tm why have we waited until now to sign him. It smacks of the best of a bad bunch left in the bag

Did he say one??

He said “I feel quite confident about the team; I think it will get stronger in the next few days and once we can do the work on the grass I think this will be a difficult place for teams to come."

he doesnt say how many will be joining at all....

IMO need 3 players a CB, CF and a RWB

The foundations are there the team will get stronger as we go as well imo!

I think if you check back to when that was said and look at players brought in since then the numbers more or less stack up.
One vacancy, but the squad is scary lightweight and racked by injury at the moment and I don't know how McBean fits, very odd choice unless he starts getting a few appearances.

5 Aug.. "The Sky Blues boss is looking to draft in six new players before the transfer window closes at the end of the month, including the full quota of loans."
http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sp...coventry-city-transfers-tony-mowbray-11709796

Since then... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/transfers
Gael Bigirimana [Newcastle - Coventry] Undisclosed
Jack McBean [LA Galaxy - Coventry] Loan
Dan Agyei [Burnley - Coventry] Loan
Jordan Turnbull [Southampton - Coventry] Undisclosed

The next four days will say a lot to me, we need players plural, experienced better players too. Certain Mowbray and Venus know this, also certain they have possibilities in their sights. Writing is on the wall for us and failure to land a couple atleast will tell me a lot about Chris Anderson and the sisu ambitions.

The strange or rather a waste of a loan for me is Lewis Page, he don't really seem any better than Haynes so why not develop him instead or get rid, from what I have seen of Page (very limited I admit) he isn't any better than Haynes at this present time

Do agree to an extent but he is left sided and is probably here as cover while Stokes is out. I don't get this constant criticism of Ryan Haynes, needs a bit of experience admittedly but he is far from useless

If Page is at a premier league club then he is better than Haynes, to be honest I think I trust Slavan Bilic's staff more than your judgement.
Actually I've seen Haynes make a good few defensive howlers, he often looks good going forward but not so solid defending.

Haynes is okay and will
Develop into a good player in time, give him a break he's just a kid still learning.

Page is clearly better than Haynes, especially defensively. If you believe otherwise I question your knowledge of football.

Whilst I do agree, page frustrated me yesterday with his distinct lack of aggression in using the overlap.
Time and again Haynes would have ran into the corner waiting for the through pass mccan was looking to play, instead me tentatively stopped and passed back to turnbull or gadz

I wonder what instructions he was under from TM and the coaching staff for the tactics we were employing!

As I said about Page I have only seen him a little but glad he did ok yesterday

I guess we have to expect that we won't get Stuart Pearce type players, TM is going more for culture than determined aggressive players, personally I think it would do us any harm if our defence could take it in turns to kick some of the opposition players up in the air, maybe we would concede less goals and have a little more drive from our players in front of defence then

I believe we need a 6ft+ target man style of player who is still very mobile and quick. I think we're lacking that physical power and punch up top. Tudgay tried to do the role in the second half at times yesterday but is just slightly too short, and ultimately drops too deep occasionally leaving us with no one in the box on the shoulders of defenders. Many times this season we've got our wide player in a good position but our strikers are not even in the 18 yard box. But 4 defensive players are.
Agyei could well play that role as he held the ball up well of a little too long at times when a quick release was on and I think the central role suits his physical presence more.
Maybe TM will play him in that role when we've JJ back starting.

I think we will see an attacker loaned in. Someone young raw and quick like Kent and Murphy last season. At least I hope we will.

In an ideal world I'd be signing another CB a RB/RWB and a striker as well but let's not pretend we have the cash for that.

Anything short of a CB, CM, RWB and another AM/ST will Be a disaster for our hopes this season.

Would love us to go and get Samuel on a permanent deal. I still think we need four players. A striker, a centre back, a right back and a creative central player. The current formarion relies pretty much on full backs in midfield so you need a goal threat from the centre of the park. Not sure McCann or Gadzhev provide that. Reece Brown from Birmingham might fit the bill. I actually think the squad is taking shape and come October we will be about 10th.

On the most part, we have cover ( all be it injured ) in these positions, so unlikely to get them in
Tm said 6 needed, we've had 5 in since then, you'll be pissing in the wind if you think we'll get 4-5 more on top of that like you're mentioning

I don't think Samuel is the type of striker we need, in my opinion we need Dion Dublin type, who can lead the line, head a ball and create room for others to fill in.

I think he looked tired, particularly in the second half. Possibly part of the reason dropping to a back four as he didn't look like he had the energy to bomb on

Lol no matter how many players we get people still keep the counter at 6 needed haha

For me we just need a rwb and a cb. That's it. I would also like to get g thomas out in loan and bring in another winger or attack mid.

I am confident our current strikers and attackers will get us goals.

lol a nice observation. But the cynical may argue they are still right despite the signings.

Time will tell, you don't know what you will get till they play in the shirt. Too early to judge the signings and they might need time to gel.

Too early to panic that's for sure. We have also been unfortunate with injuries.

Is Ruben Reid still available? Might be worth a punt now. Our front 4 could then be, Reid Reid Thomas Thomas lol.

I think we may already have potentially goals in our team but I'm still scratching my head why were playing this system with the players we have. I believe they suits last years 4231 formation more.
Were asking alot on young players like Haynes and Kelly Evans to play wing backs who are still in a period on what level there going to make it in the game.
