Collins - Wilson
MvE - Latibeaudiere
Thomas - Fadz
Kitching - Binks
Bidwell - JD
Sheaf - Kelly
Eccles - Ayari
Allen - O’Hare (?)
Saka - Simms
Godden - ??
Wright - ??

Taking what Saddlebrains said seems about right. Move Simms to ST, cover at RW/LW, Ayari off for Gus 2.0.

2 wingers makes sense.

We have effectively no cover for Wright/Saka there at the moment. Not sure how we'll get to Jan with only 4 players for the 3 forward positions & loads of games.

O’Hare will play wide right I reckon. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Dasilva or MvE deputise at times either.

I've heard O'Hare will be gone in January. Initially on loan but will be signed permanently once his contract runs down.

I reckon in his head he’s been gone since he got injured. Surprised someone is willing to take him without him proving he’s back to the same player though.

I think that's the idea behind the loan, try before you buy essentially.

He’s out of contract in the summer, why would we loan him out to let him go on a free?

If it's Burnley then they will be next season..... weren't some of his family Bluenoses? How about them with ££££s burning in their owners pockets?
I love C O'H, but if he won't sign a new contract, at least we've got used to not having him play. Somehow it won't feel like the end of the world. Would be more than happy if he does renew though.

I can’t believe in my head how I’m just not that bothered if he goes, which is quite something as I do love what he’s done for us

he doesn’t really fit in this 4/3/3 anyway as I think we’ll play 2 6’s and a 8 as opposed to a 10

8 being the January addition

The only way we should loan O'Hare out in January is if we receive a loan fee, and believe there is 100% no chance of him signing a new contract. If the club believe there is any chance of him signing a new contract then they'd be stupid to give up on that option.

What’s the bloody obsession with signing wingers?

We aren’t playing 442. We’re playing a hybrid 433 come 451. Actually more of a 4-2-3-1 with two holding midfielders.

No wingers at all (in the traditional sense)-Despite Saka playing in the front 3 role.

Two of the front three and playing more of a hybrid midfield role.

Allen is definitely playing an 8 rather than a 10.

We do need midfielders but box to box variation not creative winger types (unless change of formation) which we have 3 already in Ayari, Palmer & O’Hare.

Yes. Plenty of examples. Chelsea received about £8m every season they loaned Lukaku out to play in Italy. Given O'Hare's pre injury value to us, I would not expect us to effectively give him away in January, unless a loan fee was part of the equation, albeit I have no idea what that fee might be. Even then I think we would be stupid to loan him out rather than play him while he's still our player.

We have to plan for life without Ohare so he is a red herring. Ayari isn’t yet good enough so that rules him out too. Which leaves just Palmer as a central creative player and his injury track record shows he can’t be relied upon.

At the moment Tats is the only player who genuinely creates problems from midfield.

He’s we need 2 more 8’s, given if you sign one and they get injured you have not got sufficient cover/

I like the idea of having pacy wingers who can give us options in matches where we are struggling to break teams down ….

As he’s out of contract in the summer maybe it’s more likely we just sell him even if he only goes somewhere on a short term deal.

I was still holding out hope he gets back to his best and signs a new deal but if he wants to go then we move on. I’d hope we get at least a little something for him if he left in Jan though

Yes, that is a possibility, but equally I think he can sign a pre-contract with another club in January to leave on a free in the Summer, and just play out the season with us. Either way it will be such a pity to lose a player that's been so influential in our success these last few years, in such circumstances.

Which out of Sheaf and Eccles would you drop? And who plays no 10?

We look to be playing more of a flat 3 with a focus of leaving Wright a bit higher up the pitch. So both can play and get a left sided CM in. I did suggest Carel Eiting in the summer (albeit as a Hamer replacement, but turns out he’s left footed). Moved to FC Twente in the summer but barely played.

I just don’t really see Eccles as a holding midfielder as others do. He’s tended to push quite high up on the right in games, and that didn’t work with the other formation but I think it would now.

He was using ‘soccer’ terms now commonly heard in the USA

LK = Left kicker
BT = Back tackler
KM = Korner minder
LB = Line breaker
JB = Jump baller

Not heard anything on this O'Hare loan

Have been told though that if he hasn't signed 9n the dotted line come first week of Jan, Doug will be saying he can go for anything around the 2 million mark.

Suppose thats better than fuck all we will get in Jan

Latest i have is hes not going to sign. Hes seen how much money his mate Gustavo gets for eating kebabs and getting pissed while playing for a bag of shit club and he wants a piece

Let him go then not a big deal in my opinion

get a top quality midfielder and a couple of forwards additions and play a flat 3

Has Palmer got another year after this?

If we stick with a 4-3-3 think he may move on too

Yeah it’s hard to imagine he has a future with us at this point. I expect he’ll go on loan to another club in this division.

Cant blame him really if that’s the case, he could easily have had his top level career ended and still doesnt know if he will return to his best. Not surprised if he wants to take the cash, although it’s frustrating after paying him good money for a year out injured. That’s just football though…assuming it happens of course and who knows for sure, he might not get the offers he’s hoping for so decides to stay put for a bit
